This meditation is an invitation to cultivate self-love. The suggestions will help you to relax your mind and body, so that you can strengthen your self-compassion, self-appreciation and self-acceptance with ease. Cultivating self-love brings so many benefits, including improved mental and physical health, increased happiness, better relationships and more. When you love yourself, you’re more likely to make choices that are in your best interest instead of people-pleasing or engaging in potentially unhealthy behaviors. You’re also better equipped to handle challenging situations because you have a strong foundation of self-respect to draw from. Background music: Ascending by Dan Pennington

Welcome,

I invite you to find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed.

Sit or lie down in a relaxed position with your spine straight and your hands resting gently on your lap or by your side.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.

Inhale through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Do this for a couple of breaths.

Bring your attention to your body.

Notice the surface beneath you,

Feel the support it provides.

Allow your body to sink a little further into the support below with each out breath.

Allow yourself to be present to what is in this moment.

Now shift your focus to your breath.

Inhale deeply,

Feeling your chest and abdomen expand.

Slowly exhale,

Allowing any stress or tension to melt away.

Now with each in breath,

Receive love and with each out breath,

Let go of self-doubt.

Breathe in love,

Breathe out self-doubt.

Now place your hands gently over your heart.

Feel the warmth and connection.

Visualise a soft glowing light at the centre of your chest.

This light represents self-love.

With each breath,

Allow this light to grow brighter,

Expanding to fill your entire body with warmth and compassion.

Do this for several breaths.

Now repeat positive affirmations to yourself silently or out loud.

Feel the truth of the words and let them resonate within you.

Affirmations like,

I am worthy of love and kindness.

I accept myself completely as I am.

I am deserving of happiness and joy.

I love myself unconditionally.

Feel the truth in these words and let them resonate within you.

If there are any criticisms that arise,

I invite you to simply acknowledge them without judgement and let them be.

Offer yourself forgiveness.

Understand that you are human and that it's okay not to be perfect.

Let go of any negative thoughts about yourself and allow yourself to be free from self-imposed burdens.

Take a moment now to appreciate your beautiful body and the incredible vessel it is.

Feel appreciation for your body's strength,

Resilience and the unique way it carries you through life.

Thank your body for always being there for you and always bringing you back to balance.

Now feel appreciation for your marvellous mind.

Just like your body,

Your mind is self-healing and self-regulating and it too is always working to bring you back to balance,

Calm and clarity.

Thank your mind for finding unique solutions to the challenges you face and for its ability to think,

To imagine,

To dream and to give you this experience called life.

Now imagine a golden light surrounding you,

A light of pure,

Unconditional love.

Picture this light infusing every cell of your being with warmth and acceptance.

Allow the light to nurture you and fill you up and then let it expand and radiate out from you.

Visualise yourself radiating love and confidence.

See yourself living a life filled with love,

Joy and fulfilment.

Imagine where you are.

Imagine what you're doing.

Imagine who you're with.

And imagine how you feel.

Connect with the energy of this new you and allow it to inspire and guide you.

Bring a gentle smile to your face and take a few moments to let go of your worries.

Take a few moments to bask in the feelings of self-love,

Self-compassion,

Self-appreciation and self-acceptance.

Know that you can return to this place of love and tranquillity whenever you want as it is always here for you.

When you're ready,

When you feel ready,

Start to wiggle your fingers and toes and gently bring your awareness back to the here and now.

And in your own time,

Slowly open your eyes and take in your surroundings.

Then,

When you're ready,

Return to your day with this renewed sense of love,

Compassion,

Appreciation and acceptance for yourself.
