Welcome to your mindful moment practice.
Let's start by finding our mindful posture.
Take a moment to get comfortable in your seat.
If you're in a chair,
Place your feet on the ground.
Now imagine a string gently pulling the top of your head towards the sky,
Lengthening your spine.
Let your body slow down and come to stillness.
Soften your shoulders.
Let them drop away from your ears.
Relax your jaw.
Soften your belly.
Allow your whole body to ease into this moment.
If it feels comfortable,
Go ahead and close your eyes,
Or if you prefer,
Choose a spot on the floor in front of you to rest your gaze.
Please place your hand on a spot where you feel your breath.
This could be your heart,
At your belly,
Or just in front of your nose.
Alternatively,
Let your hands rest softly on your lap.
Now,
I invite you to focus your attention on your breath.
Notice when you breathe in and when you breathe out.
If your mind begins to wander away from your breath,
That's perfectly okay.
Simply notice where your tension has gone and kindly guide it back to your breath.
Breathing in.
Breathing out.
You might find it helpful to use anchor words,
Silently saying to yourself,
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
To close this practice,
Begin to gently wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes,
Returning to your day with a sense of calm and connection.
