In this practice, I invite you to step away from the noise of parenting, even if just for a few minutes. Feel the weight on your shoulders begin to soften as you give yourself permission to pause. Notice the simple rhythm of your breath - steady, imperfect, human. Each inhale brings space, each exhale lets go of the outer chatter tugging at you. This is for the busy parent who needs to reclaim some space for themselves, to tune in so they can show up as more present, grounded, and connected with their children. With every breath, imagine yourself reclaiming a small pocket of peace that belongs only to you. This reset isn’t about escaping responsibility; it’s about remembering that beneath the overwhelm, you are still here - whole, steady, and worthy of rest. Allow the sound of my voice to guide you into presence, into a moment where you can exhale fully, unclench your jaw, and feel your heart expand again.

This is a meditation for the busy busy parent.

My name is Lillian and at the time of this recording I have an 8 week old son.

So,

These moments of pause sometimes feel very impossible,

But I want to remind you right now that in the next 10 minutes we can take some much needed time to reset our bodies,

To clear our minds and bring us to the present moment with our own bodies before we go back to the world,

Before we go back to the mess and the laundry and the cries.

This is your moment.

This is your space.

So,

Let's begin by just taking a nice deep breath in together.

Not a yoga breath,

Not a perfect breath,

Like a real breath.

Inhaling,

Maybe with a bit of a sigh,

Just letting our shoulders drop,

Noticing how much weight you've been carrying physically,

Emotionally,

Even mentally.

It's a lot and it's okay to just be with that for a moment.

Bring the energy into the shoulders as we inhale once again and as you exhale letting them drop even lower.

And if in this moment you feel how tired you are,

You feel all the directions that you're constantly being pulled into,

The chatter,

The responsibility,

The to-do list,

The things that feel that never end,

Just allow that to be for a moment,

But just for a moment.

And in the next breath,

Just see if we can let them go just a little bit,

Just for a moment.

Take a nice deep breath in.

I invite you to close your eyes if you haven't done so already or soften your gaze and just take a moment to feel the ground beneath you,

Maybe the seat or the bed.

Let your jaw unclench a little,

Let your belly soften.

And let your chest loosen with your exhale.

As you breathe,

Imagine the outer noise,

The voices,

The dishes,

All the rushing.

Just slowly fade away,

Letting each exhale just gently turn down the volume,

Lower until all that's left is you,

Until all that's left is your breath,

Until you can feel the pulse of your heartbeat and you can connect to your own presence.

And notice what it's like to be here with yourself.

And if your mind wanders,

That's fine,

Gently come back.

If you need a reminder,

Say to yourself,

I am allowed to pause.

I am allowed to pause.

As you feel the calm,

Take in a nice deep breath.

As you feel the calm,

Let in just a little more peace.

And with every exhale,

Just let a little more weight drop.

Just staying with yourself here.

Remembering that you are enough.

Even in the chaos,

You are enough.

Let's take a nice deep breath in together as we begin to close our moment.

Take a nice deep breath in.

Thank yourself for taking this pause.

Because even though it's a few minutes,

It matters.

Take this reset and carry it with you in your day.

Parenting can sometimes be relentless,

And you showed up for yourself.

That's big.

Thank you for pausing with me.

And for giving yourself this time.

Let's begin to feel our toes and sway your body as you come into the space.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

Come back to the space.

And have a wonderful day.
