Transcript

Hello and welcome to this dynamic breathwork flow.

Today we'll be practicing two rounds of dynamic breathwork together.

If you're unfamiliar with dynamic breathwork,

Here is a brief overview.

Dynamic breathwork is an activating technique with six key benefits.

It radically boosts the immune system,

Reduces inflammation,

Enhances athletic performance,

Helps with managing stress and anxiety,

Increases longevity,

And prepares the mind and body for meditation.

Here is how it works.

We will be taking 40 rapid controlled hyperventilated breaths in through the mouth and out through the mouth.

These breaths sound like this.

On the 40th and final breath you will exhale fully so your lungs are empty and then hold your breath at the bottom.

For this session I'll guide you to hold your breath for around 40 seconds but in your personal practice you're welcome to extend this as feels comfortable.

After the hold we will take a deep breath in through the nose filling your lungs completely and holding at the top.

After a few seconds I'll cue you to take a few extra sips of air in to expand the lungs further.

They sound like this.

Then we will hold a little bit longer and then exhale fully with the sounding ohm letting all of the air out.

That completes one round.

After each round we'll take a breath in through the nose and let it out to relax and reset the body.

Before we begin a quick note it is best to practice sitting or lying down.

If you're prone to fainting always practice lying down for safety's sake.

So find a comfortable seat pause this track if necessary to get yourself prepared and then we'll begin.

All right so let's begin by taking a deep breath in through the nose in three two one filling all the way up and then letting go so we'll start our first round of 40 breaths in five four three two one that was 10 breaths keep on breathing you're doing great that's 20 you're doing great keep on going that's 30 breaths 10 more to go 37 38 39 40 final breath in and then exhale all the way out holding your breath at the bottom here and trusting in your ability to hold staying present with the sounds of the music present with the sensations in your body holding and being still and trusting you can do more than you think you can do continue to hold trusting your breath we're almost there we will take a breath in through the nose in five four three two one breathing in filling all the way up holding here at the top and we'll take a few sips of air in five four three two one holding a little bit longer and ohming it out together in five four three two one taking a recovery breath in through the nose filling all the way up pausing briefly at the top and letting go beautiful that completes one round we'll start our next round in five four three two one begin that's 10 you're doing great 20 halfway there that's 30 breaths a few more to go this is 37 38 39 and the final 40th breath and exhale all of the air comes out holding here at the bottom simply continuing to hold and to trust and to know that you are capable hearing the sounds of the music staying present to the sensations in your body noticing when your body starts getting that oxygen hunger but remaining equanimous you're almost there keep on holding and we'll take a breath in through the nose in five four three two one filling all the way up and holding at the top here taking a couple sips of air in five four three two one continuing to hold and we'll ohm it out together in five four three two one oh and taking a breath in through the nose filling up holding briefly at the top and letting go letting your shoulders relax your body relax so that was two rounds thank you for practicing with me today enjoy this sensation this energy that you've cultivated for yourself and have a beautiful day namaste

Feeling energised! Can I ask the purpose of breathing through the mouth for dynamic breathwork?
