Hello and welcome to this guided meditation where we are walking or hiking and connecting to nature and connecting to any parts of us that are carrying grief.
And when we're in nature,
It engages our curiosity and it drops us into our five senses,
Draws our attention to details and it slows us down and really transmits a sense of peace and also a healthy regard for danger.
It offers us metaphors and it can take our breath away.
In moving through the complex natural world and environment,
It gives our grief arms,
Legs,
Eyes,
Ears to process and to feel and to integrate our grief and love as well as our connection to the life-death cycle.
So you don't have to change,
You don't have to get over it.
The world is here and so are you.
You are welcome here and your grief is welcome here.
So we're going to begin our walk with some silence and some stillness if that feels good.
You can just slow down and stop or if you want to just slow down and you can also walk slowly if that feels good.
I also want to invite you to go with any movement that feels right for you in this moment.
Maybe there's some swaying or some shifting weight from side to side.
You can start by feeling your feet on the ground.
Noticing the weight for your legs.
Notice if there's,
If you can connect to the gravitational pull that's keeping us grounded in this moment.
Can you feel it reaching up from the bottom or pulling down from the top?
Maybe a little bit of both.
Let's spend some time noticing the world around.
You can begin by focusing on one sense,
Maybe that sight,
Smell,
Touch.
Just take in as much information as you can from that sense.
Maybe just spend a few minutes noticing sights.
Maybe taking a headphone out and noticing some sounds.
We're just going to take a few minutes to drop into a few of your senses.
Maybe there's some textures,
Some trees or plants that you can touch nearby.
Trying to take in the world around you as new.
Even the things you've seen a thousand times before.
Just try to allow yourself to open to this moment in time.
What do you notice your attention pulls you towards?
Is there something that you can't look away from?
Is there anything that your eyes or your senses want to pull you towards?
We're just noticing.
As you're standing,
Taking in the world.
As you're walking,
Imagine your loved one with you.
No words.
You could be seeing through their eyes as they could be seeing through your eyes.
Just really try to feel their presence.
Ask if there's a message for you.
Don't try,
No forcing.
We're just being open and curious.
Is there a message?
Just using your senses to notice.
Do you have a message for them?
Again,
You want to slow down and not force anything.
Just being curious and open.
At this point,
Staying curious and open.
Just noting if there's anything that's grabbing your attention or if there's any messages or metaphors.
If there's no messages,
That's okay.
And if there are,
Great.
Maybe you can take some time and write them down afterwards.
Just noticing what's coming up for you,
If anything.
Maybe there's some favorite memories or things that you miss about your person or people.
And that's okay.
Nature can hold that.
It can be with that.
These experiences without rushing or judgment or any criticism at all.
Just notice how the natural world holds space for you to show up exactly as you are.
And what would your loved one appreciate about this walk?
And how would they appreciate you trying to connect with them today through nature?
Connecting to their presence.
Connecting to your love and your grief.
And just know that this is here for you anytime.
It can always come to a place in nature.
You can always ask for a message or give a message.
And that's here for you.
Again,
Thank you for joining me today.
It's an honor to share in this sacred space with you of nature and grief and love.
