Rest in Being The purpose of this meditation is very simple,
To rest in the felt sense of being and realize the peace and ease of that.
Let's begin with posture cues to awaken sensory awareness and relaxed presence through your body.
Sit comfortably upright,
With the soles of your feet flat on the ground and parallel with each other.
Rest your hands palms cupped in your lap,
With the tips of your thumbs touching lightly.
Lightly close your eyes.
Take a moment to check in inside and notice how you feel right now.
If you could sum up this feeling in a word,
Phrase,
Or image,
What would this be?
Consider your intention for your practice.
Why is this important to you?
Consider dedicating your practice to the well-being of all beings.
Now,
Focus down into the feeling of contact between the soles of your feet and the ground.
Awaken sensory awareness in your feet and toes.
Soften and relax your feet.
Feeling as if they are melting down into the ground.
Feel the grounded presence of the earth through the soles of your feet.
Enjoy this feeling of grounded presence.
Focus into your palms and fingers.
Awaken sensory awareness here in your hands.
Allow your hands to soften and relax.
Allow your hands to soften and relax even more.
Enjoy the feeling of soft,
Relaxed openness in your hands.
As your hands relax,
Allow your arms and shoulders to relax down,
Releasing any tension in your neck and shoulders.
Feel as if a string is attached to the top of your head,
Drawing your spine gently upright.
Giving you a sense of awakened clarity,
Rising from your tailbone,
Up through your spine,
Up through the core of your body,
To the top of your head.
Enjoy this feeling of awakened clarity through your upright spine.
Tuck your chin just slightly to gently lengthen the back of your neck.
Lightly close your lips and gently breathe in and out through your nose.
Place your tongue up on the roof of your mouth,
With the tip of your tongue touching the gum line behind your upper front teeth.
Soften and relax your tongue here.
Smile,
A subtle smile of appreciation and gratitude for this time to simply be here.
Allow this subtle feeling of smiling to relax and soften your face,
Your eyebrows,
And your forehead.
Allow this subtle feeling of smiling to gently wash down through your whole body.
Feel your body as a whole from the inside.
Feel your inner space,
Together with the space all around,
As one space.
Open to a felt sense of being.
Simply being.
Are there any boundaries to that felt sense of being?
Does it begin or end?
Is it possible,
Rather than resting in being,
To rest as being?
As being,
Is anything lacking?
Is there anything special you need to do to be?
Is this felt sense of being familiar?
Is this something you've always known?
Rest as this felt sense of being.
Rest as being itself.
Peaceful.
At ease.
Simply being.
Rest as this felt sense of being.
Rest as being itself.
Peaceful.
At ease.
Simply being.
Is it possible to relate to anything that arises as an expression of being itself?
So that you relate to any thought,
Feeling,
Or sensation,
Comfortable or uncomfortable,
With a sense of peace and ease.
Allowing everything to be as it is.
Allowing everything to flow and change.
As you continue to rest as this felt sense of being.
Simply being.
Peaceful and at ease.
At ease.
Simply being.
Slowly,
Very slowly,
Begin to open your eyes.
Feel the space inside,
And the space all around.
As one space of being.
Record the felt sense of being in every cell.
So you remember it.
Bring it with you.
Share it with others.
And can return to it anytime.
What would it be like to live from the felt sense of being?
Embracing all.
With peace and ease.
Peace.
