Take a moment to settle into your seat and see and feel your environment as a sacred space.

The purpose of this meditation is to give you a glimpse of eternity,

The boundless,

Timeless awareness that you are.

By practicing this glimpsing again and again,

You realize boundless,

Timeless awareness as that within which and from which all your experiences arise.

Vast awareness is recognized as the stable,

Enduring background and wellspring of every moment,

Every thought,

Feeling,

Sensation,

And interaction.

You are awareness itself,

Playing through space and time in the guise of individuality,

Yet always remaining eternal and boundless at the same time.

Yes,

You are that.

You are boundless,

Timeless awareness,

And you can remember that,

You can recognize it any moment.

Let's practice this together now.

Sit comfortably upright,

With the soles of your feet flat on the ground and parallel to each other.

Rest your hands cupped in your lap,

With the tips of your thumbs touching lightly.

Keep your eyes open for now,

With a soft gaze looking forward.

Let's begin by considering your intention for your practice.

Why is this important to you?

Consider dedicating your practice to the well-being of all beings.

Now,

Focus down into your feet and feel the sensations of contact of your feet on the ground.

Awaken sensory awareness in the soles of your feet,

And feel the grounded presence of the earth.

Feel this grounded presence through your feet.

Focus into your palms and fingers.

Awaken sensory awareness here in your hands.

Soften and relax your hands down in your lap,

And feel your hands and pelvic bowl together,

Resting down into your seat,

And down into the earth.

Imagine a string attached to the top of your head.

Drawing your spine gently upright,

Giving you a feeling of awakened clarity,

Rising up through your whole body.

Tuck your chin just slightly to gently lengthen the back of your neck.

Relax your jaw.

Soften and relax your tongue.

Smile.

A subtle smile of openness to this moment,

Here,

Now.

Notice any sensations in your body.

Any area of your body that is tense.

To you at this moment,

Or perhaps your body as a whole.

Hold these sensations in the gentle embrace of awareness.

Notice the sensations of breathing,

Wherever you feel them most prominently.

What's the felt quality of your breathing right now?

Take a few slow,

Deep breaths,

Drawing your in-breath down into the pelvic bowl,

And releasing any tension through long out-breaths.

Now,

Choose a focal point in front of you,

And keep a steady gaze on that focal point.

Something that is easy to see and focus on.

So,

Choose one focal point and become aware of that.

Direct the arrow of attention toward that object,

And allow it to occupy your full attention.

Now,

Soften your gaze just slightly,

While you maintain a steady gaze on that focal point.

Softening,

While the gaze remains steady on that focal point.

As you keep your eyes steady on this focal point,

Soften your gaze a bit more,

And become aware of the space around this focal point.

Feel out into the periphery of this space,

So you are feeling the whole field available in your vision.

It's a visual field,

But you're feeling it.

You're feeling the space all the way out into the periphery of your vision.

Now,

Imagine you have sensors on the sides and back of your head,

And with these sensors,

Sense the space behind and all around you.

So you have a 360 degree field of space,

And you feel it all around you.

Keeping your eyes steady on the focal point in front of you,

Within this space all around you,

Become aware of the one who is aware of this focal point.

Become aware of the one who is aware of the space all around.

Notice this subtle shift.

Awareness was in the background,

Focusing on the focal point and feeling the space,

And now,

Awareness comes to the foreground and permeates the foreground.

The whole space and the focal point.

There is a certain felt sense to the one who is aware.

Deepen awareness of the one who is aware of the focal point and the space.

The focal point and the space are somehow encompassed within awareness.

They arise within awareness.

Now,

Sense even deeper into awareness itself,

That within which this focal point,

This space and all experiences arise.

That which encompasses and is beyond everything that arises within it.

Recognize awareness,

Which usually rests in the background,

As permeating the whole field.

Become aware of awareness itself.

Inquire into awareness itself.

Are there any edges or limits to awareness?

Can you sense any boundaries to awareness?

No,

It is boundless.

Awareness is not confined to any space.

It is somehow beyond space,

As that within which space arises.

Does awareness begin or end?

No,

Awareness has no beginning and no end.

It is timeless.

Awareness itself,

Does it change?

No,

It is changeless.

Everything that appears within awareness changes,

But awareness itself is changeless.

It remains changeless underneath and across all experiences,

As that which enables all experiences to appear.

In the light of awareness,

You are that boundless,

Timeless,

Changeless awareness.

Now,

Maintain the felt sense of awareness itself as you lightly close your eyes.

Rest back as boundless,

Timeless,

Changeless awareness.

If you need to open your eyes to refresh the felt sense of awareness,

You can.

Then,

Close your eyes again and rest back as boundless,

Timeless,

Changeless awareness.

You are awareness itself,

Boundless.

If you notice anything arising within awareness,

Simply recognize it,

Release it,

Let it go within vast,

Boundless,

Timeless awareness.

Notice that within which and from which all moments of experience arise and dissolve.

Rest as awareness prior to anything arising and forming,

Prior to the workings of the mind,

Prior to desire and intention,

Prior to extension in space,

Prior to duration in time,

Prior to space and time,

Prior to creation,

Dimensionless,

Locationless,

Choiceless,

Changeless,

Timeless,

Feel openness,

Rest as openness prior to anything arising,

Vast openness,

Here,

If anything arises,

Recognize it,

Then release it,

And rest as openness prior to content,

Simple openness.

A rest from content,

A rest from experiences,

Boundless openness,

Without beginning or end,

Eternity,

Here,

You are vast,

You are free,

Here,

You are free.

Underneath it all,

You are free.

What you're searching for is here,

Now.

Deep peace,

Open,

Eternal awareness.

You are free.

Very slowly,

Very slowly,

While maintaining a felt sense of openness,

Of awareness itself,

Begin to open your eyes and sense the space within and all around you as arising within awareness.

No inside,

One space,

Arising within awareness.

Record the felt sense of open,

Boundless,

Timeless,

Changeless awareness that you are,

So you remember it,

Bring it with you,

Share it with others,

And can return and recognize it anytime.

All of this,

Here,

Now,

Arises within awareness.

What would it be like to move through life as awareness itself?

Playing through space and time,

While remembering who you are as awareness,

Beyond this play of form.

It's like walking or driving through a vast,

Open landscape,

While feeling boundless,

Timeless,

Open awareness within and all around.

It's not a place you go,

It's not a state you get to or have to maintain,

It's who you are.

We just forget,

We get caught up in this play of form,

This play of appearances,

And forget.

It's all arising within awareness,

Within this vast,

Boundless,

Timeless awareness that you are.

It's so simple,

We often miss it.

It's always here,

Now,

As who you are.

You can repeat this meditation again and again,

To remind you of who you are,

Vast,

Boundless,

You are that.

Take a moment to write as awareness,

Anything you'd like to remember from this meditative experience,

Including any insights and inspirations.

Thank you for your practice.

Well done.
