This practice, inspired by the Strozzi Institute lineage, guides you through the four dimensions of somatic presence: length, width, depth, and purpose. In just a few minutes, you shift from thinking into sensing, allowing your body to become the organizing intelligence of the moment. Length reconnects you with dignity, width restores your capacity for connection, and depth grounds you in both your history and your future. The fourth dimension - purpose - gathers your longings and commitments into the body so they can shape how you stand, move, and lead. Together, these dimensions create a centered state you can return to throughout your day.

Let yourself arrive.

We'll begin in a standing position.

If your body desires to sit,

Honor that.

Take a slow,

Deep breath,

A breath that signals,

I'm here,

I'm listening,

I'm feeling.

Every practice helps us embody a principle.

Today we're exploring presence,

Openness,

Connection,

And purpose through the four dimensions.

Here instead of living from the thinking mind,

We're practicing the art of sensing through the body.

Allow your awareness to drop down into your hips,

Thighs,

Knees,

Calves,

And feet.

Feel the temperature and the weight in your legs as they hold you up.

Notice the ground under you,

Supporting you,

Let your breath move into your lower body.

Now bring a hand to your lower belly,

Your seat of intention,

Your dantian,

Your center of gravity.

It might be helpful to place your thumb in your belly button and let the rest of your hand rest below it.

Let your breath gather there.

Feel how this spot organizes you,

Aligns you,

And brings you back to yourself.

Stay with it and feel a gentle anchoring in that space.

Now we'll explore the dimension of length,

Your vertical axis.

Imagine a line from the base of your feet rising through your spine out the crown of your head.

Let your weight settle down through your legs while the top of you lengthens upward like a tree reaching toward sunlight.

Loosen your knees and feel your spine stack itself one vertebra at a time.

Reach one arm down and one arm up if it helps you sense that elongation.

Switch sides.

Let length remind you of your dignity,

Your innate sense to take your full height.

And remember the dignity of others.

Everyone has a right to be here.

Stay with this for another moment.

If your arms are raised,

Bring them back down to your sides.

On your next breath,

Let your attention widen.

Imagine you're a book opening from the center.

Let your shoulders broaden.

Let your ribs expand.

Let your hips soften outward.

Gently sway side to side until you find a place of balance between your left and right sides.

Let the space across your collarbones widen.

Let your shoulder blades slide down your back like they're settling into a hammock.

Give your body permission to take up space.

This is the dimension of connection,

Relationship.

This is you embodying,

I belong.

Next,

We'll move into the third dimension,

The dimension of depth.

Begin with your back body.

Sense the clothing touching your back,

The space behind your heart,

The backs of your knees.

Let yourself feel held by the invisible support behind you.

Everything you've lived through is there at your back.

Your education,

Experiences,

Lessons,

Billions of years of evolution.

Your ancestors.

Your decisions and choices.

And then continue to travel through to the front of your body.

Feel your forehead,

The tip of your nose,

Your sternum,

Knees,

The space in front of you,

The place your future is becoming.

Decisions not yet made.

Descendants not yet born.

If it helps,

Move one arm forward and one arm behind you.

Then switch.

Feel the reach of possibility and the support behind you.

Play with the balance between the two until you land in the center point.

Now you hold length,

Width,

And depth together.

You're sourced,

Centered,

And ready.

And now the fourth dimension,

The one that gives the others meaning.

Ask yourself,

Who am I becoming?

Who do I care about?

What do I care about?

Where is my longing pulling me?

Let these questions be answered through your body,

Not the mind.

Let purpose gather in your belly,

Widen across your chest,

Lengthen through your spine.

Let it move through the back body,

The front body,

And your inner world.

Purpose is something you center in.

Let it fill you from the inside out.

Take a few more breaths here.

Breathe as the person you're becoming.

Breathe as if your future self is already present in your tissues.

Let your body hold length and dignity,

Width and connection,

Depth and presence,

Purpose and longing.

Stay for one final breath.

Feel the fullness of your center.

Feel the confidence that comes from inhabiting all your dimensions.

And when you're ready,

Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.

You're here,

You're centered,

And you're living on purpose.
