Welcome,
I'm Jocelyn.
This is a midday break.
This is a lunch break,
A two-in-the-afternoon break,
A in-the-middle-of-your-day break.
And it's a time to simply get into your body,
Connect with your heart,
And then move on with your day.
It's a practice of presence,
So wherever you are,
Close your eyes.
You might be sitting.
If you have the opportunity,
Go ahead and lie down,
Closing your eyes,
Just bringing your awareness to the top of your head,
To your eyes,
Your eyebrows,
Your temples,
Bringing your awareness to your lips,
Your jaw,
Bringing your awareness to the back of your tongue,
Your shoulders,
Your ribs,
Your lower belly,
Your hips,
And the bottoms of your feet.
Taking a moment to feel where your body is in space,
Feeling your edges,
Feeling where you end and where you begin.
Taking a few deep breaths down into the belly,
Inhaling,
And exhaling through an open mouth.
Inhaling down deep into your belly,
Opening your mouth and even sighing out a little bit of sound,
And one more time,
Inhaling down deep into your belly,
Opening your mouth and sighing it out on a sound,
And letting that go.
This break is about gratitude.
If you could take a moment to wonder or imagine what the words,
Thank you,
Might feel like landing on your skin.
For some of you,
It might be like a kiss,
For others,
It might be like a gentle wind,
But for you,
What do you imagine the words,
Thank you,
Might feel like landing on your skin?
Can you imagine on the tip of your tongue,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing on the roof of your mouth,
Thank you.
The tip of your nose,
Thank you.
What does it feel like those words landing on the tip of the nose?
The right ear,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing.
The right temple,
Thank you.
The globe of the eye,
Thank you.
The right eyebrow,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing gently.
The center of the forehead,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing gently.
The left eyebrow,
The globe of the left eye.
The left temple,
Thank you,
Landing gently on the left temple.
The left ear,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing on the skin of the left ear,
Gently.
The back of the neck,
The words,
Thank you.
The right shoulder,
Thank you.
The right wrist,
Thank you.
All five fingers of the right hand,
The words,
Thank you,
Landing gently on all five fingers of the right hand.
The right hip,
Thank you.
Right knee,
Thank you.
The right ankle,
All five toes of the right foot,
Thank you,
Landing gently.
The lower belly,
Thank you,
Landing gently on the skin of the lower belly.
The heart space,
Thank you,
Thank you.
The left shoulder,
Thank you.
The left wrist,
Thank you,
Landing gently on the left wrist.
All five fingers of the left hand,
Thank you.
The left hip,
Thank you.
Knee,
Thank you.
Ankle,
Thank you.
All five toes of the left foot,
Thank you,
Landing gently on all five toes of the left foot.
Back to the lower belly,
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
And back to the heart.
The words,
Thank you,
What does it feel like for those words to be absorbed into the heart space?
Thank you,
Thank you.
And the whole body,
The whole body,
A gentle thank you landing across the whole body.
And just becoming aware of your breath,
Your inhale and your exhale at your own pace.
And taking a few breaths,
Breathing into your heart space,
Breathing that thank you into the heart space on your inhale,
And out of that heart space on the exhale.
Allowing each inhale to breathe in,
Thank you.
And allowing each exhale to breathe out,
Thank you.
In your own space,
In your own time,
Inhaling in to the heart space,
Thank you.
And exhaling out from the heart space,
Thank you.
In your own time,
In your own space,
In your own rhythm,
In your own flow,
Inhaling into the heart,
Thank you.
And exhaling out from the heart,
Thank you.
And letting that go,
Starting to become aware of the space around you,
Aware of your body in space,
Aware of the sounds in your space and on this recording.
Starting to really become aware of the breath and the way it moves your body.
Feel the expansion,
Feel the contraction.
Take one really deep breath,
Inhaling.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
Inhaling one more time.
And opening your mouth and exhaling with sound.
You might flutter your eyes open,
Wiggle your toes or your fingers,
Shake out your body just a little bit.
All of that gratitude and thanks for this body that carries us,
That holds us up,
That makes this life possible.
You can feel good about giving it all of that gratitude.
Thank you for joining me.
Namaste.
