Welcome,
I'm Jocelyn.
This is a Guided Curiosity.
We're going to be moving into the mountain space today.
And before we do that,
If you could just take a few deep breaths,
Maybe even roll your shoulders out,
Roll your ribs out a little,
Your head or even your hands and your feet,
Just to let loose some of the energy that's been held inside.
And just take a few deep breaths into the belly.
You're going to breathe in through the nose.
Hold.
Open your mouth and sighing it out.
Inhaling through the nose.
Nice and deep.
Holding it.
Opening your mouth and sighing out.
One more time.
Inhaling through the nose,
Deep into the belly.
Holding.
Opening your mouth and sighing it out.
You may want to add some voice to your sigh.
Now that we've rolled a few things out,
We've gotten present with a bit of breath,
Just finding yourself in a still place.
Finding yourself presently still.
And that might mean lying down or sitting back in a chair or on a meditation pillow.
And wherever you are,
Just notice the shape of your body.
Notice the edges,
The outline,
The parameters of your body.
Notice what angles or curves your body makes.
Notice where there is a part of your body that is emphasized by an angle or a curve.
And notice and bring your awareness to all the spaces in your body.
You might have a space between your fingers or your toes.
You may have a space by your lower back,
Under your arms.
See if you can bring your awareness to these spaces around your body.
And now,
Just bring your awareness to the places where your body is being supported,
Where you can feel the touch of support beneath your body.
Where is your body supported?
And you can almost imagine bringing your attention to those places where you're supported and almost expanding or melting down into the support.
And that almost being a waterfall or a cascade of letting go and loosening down into the support.
And bring your attention to your eyes,
Your awareness,
Gently to your eyes,
Allowing them to loosen back and down.
Our eyes work so hard for us.
And in this space,
They can close down and relax,
Loosen their grip.
And your tongue,
Can you bring your awareness gently to your tongue,
The back of your tongue,
Letting go,
Loosening the tip of your tongue.
All the way down into the center of your throat,
Just bringing your awareness gently there.
If you can imagine your awareness like a gentle gaze,
A loving gaze that you can simply release into.
And bring your awareness simply to your ears,
The folds of your ears,
Your earlobes,
This loving gaze of your awareness,
And your inner ears,
The space between the ears.
And might you open up those inner ears to all the sounds in your space.
The sounds on this recording,
My voice.
Can you listen to the depth of layers of vibration and sound all around you?
All around you.
Might you even hear your heartbeat or the life energy moving through your body.
And placing that gentle,
Loving gaze of your awareness on your nose,
The tip of your nose,
The right nostril as it inhales,
The left nostril as it exhales.
Noticing the temperature of air,
The flow of air in and out of your nostrils.
And bringing that loving gaze of your awareness to the muscle of the mind.
Might you imagine the mind as a fist,
And your gentle,
Loving gaze of awareness gently unfurling that fist,
Loosening that fist,
The muscle of the mind.
Loosening,
Widening,
Opening,
Expanding.
And might you place that loving gaze of your awareness on the inside of your mouth,
The inside of the right cheek,
Roof of the mouth,
Inside of the left cheek,
The floor of the mouth,
Gums,
Tip of the tongue,
Upper lip,
And lower lip.
And might you bring your loving gaze of awareness and attention to the center of your chest,
Your heart space.
That gentle,
Loving gaze softening all the edges of the heart space as it slowly expands.
And the next time that you have an inhale,
Inhaling into the heart space.
And whenever your exhale comes,
Exhaling from your heart space.
And when you exhale,
You're exhaling from that very same heart space.
Breathing in,
Breathing out,
And breathing in,
And breathing out,
And breathing out,
And breathing in,
And breathing out.
That very same heart space.
Breathing life into this energy center.
Breathing expansion into this energy center.
Breathing in and out in your own time into the heart space.
And might you,
On your next inhale,
Imagine inhaling from your heart space all the way down through the solar plexus and the sacral into the root center.
And when you exhale,
Exhaling from the root center all the way up back to the heart space.
Might you imagine that on your inhale,
Whenever that comes,
You're inhaling from your heart space all the way down through the centers to your root center.
And when you exhale,
Exhaling from your root center all the way through to your heart center.
And allowing your breath to breathe you at the very speed and depth that your body is calling for of breath.
Allowing yourself to inhale and exhale in your own time,
Inhaling from the heart space to the root center,
And exhaling from the root center to the heart space.
And allowing yourself to let that go.
Might you imagine that you are on the top of a mountain,
On the peak of a mountain.
And allowing your eyes to wander from where you are.
Looking out over the horizon,
What do you see?
Are there other mountains?
Do you see valleys below?
Are you on the tallest mountain or the shortest mountain or somewhere in between?
Looking around,
How far away does the sky feel?
What colors are the sky?
Are there clouds,
Wisps?
Is it cloudless?
And as you look around,
You might notice if it is day or night or somewhere in between.
Take notice of the horizon and what it holds for you.
Is there another mountain close by or is it off in the distance?
And bring your attention to the mountain peak that you are standing on.
Look around.
Do you notice trees,
Grasses,
Rocks?
Do you notice if there is snow or fog?
Maybe there is dew.
Are you on a path?
Do you notice any animals or people with you?
Are there birds in the sky?
And on this peak of your mountain,
Is there a bench or a rock to sit on?
Is it a wide expanse or a narrow place?
Do you feel closed in or do you feel wide open?
In these environments,
Everything has meaning,
So allow your curiosity to be turned on.
Allow yourself to get curious about colors and shapes and distances and light.
Allow yourself to turn in 360 degrees.
Does anything change when you turn in 360 degrees?
And look down at your feet.
What is the foliage at your feet?
Is this a mountain of rocks and grass or a mountain of sand?
A snow mountain?
Is this your mountain?
What does it look like at your feet?
Bending down and putting your hands on the mountain's back,
Can you feel what this mountain feels like?
Is it rough or soft?
Does it want to hold your hand or does it not want to be touched?
And allow your fingertips to sense this mountain that is holding you up.
Maybe this mountain is feeling something and you're beginning to feel it too.
Standing up,
Allow your hands up in the air and feel if there is wind or breeze.
Can you feel the temperature of the air?
Is it moving?
Are you in the sun or is it night time?
Take a deep breath here on the top of the mountain.
And what does that air feel like in your lungs?
What does your skin feel like in this place of the mountain?
And might you notice for a minute what it smells like here on the top of your mountain.
What does the air smell like from here?
Maybe there's a campfire nearby and you smell the campfire.
Or maybe you smell the fresh air so high up.
Or maybe you smell the foliage on the top of your mountain.
Or maybe here at the top of your mountain you smell the scent of someone you love.
What do you smell here on the top of the mountain?
And might you open up your ears and listen to the sounds of this mountain.
Do you hear a rustle through trees?
Do you hear the wind?
Do you hear birds or animals or footsteps?
Do you hear echoes?
Do you hear your own voice?
What do you hear at the top of your mountain?
Do you hear the beginning of a light rain or a downpour?
Do you hear only your heartbeat?
Or do you hear the songs of the ancient people who lived on this mountain?
What do you hear?
Everything on this peak of this mountain is unique to you.
The colors,
The shapes,
The sounds,
The smells,
The tastes,
Everything you feel here is unique to you.
And everything in this space has meaning.
So take a minute to find something on this mountain top that makes you curious.
And follow it for the next few minutes,
Allowing the meaning to unfold.
It might mean that a path opens up.
It might mean that you look closer and closer and closer into a single detail.
It might mean that you simply sit and breathe in this space.
Wherever your curiosity brings you,
Follow it for the next few minutes.
This mountain top is always available to you.
You can come here whenever you'd like.
And it may change and it may be different from the last time when you visited,
Or it might be one small detail that's different.
But this place is always available to you.
It's always available to you.
Come and practice and get curious.
Everything here has meaning.
So know you can come back here at any time.
And for now,
We're going to leave this place and begin to slowly deepen our breath,
Inhaling through the nose,
Opening your mouth and exhaling out.
And on this third exhale,
You might want to bring some sound.
And on this third exhale,
You might want to bring some sound.
Allowing your breath to come back to your natural rhythm.
And just wiggling your hands,
Your fingers,
Your feet,
Your toes,
Maybe rolling your neck and your head a little bit,
And maybe even taking a little bit of a full body stretch.
You might want to flutter your eyes open,
Maybe grab a journal and write about your journey onto the mountain top.
Remember,
This place is always here for you.
It may change.
It may stay the same,
But there's always details here for you that have meaning.
It's a wonderful way to practice your curiosity,
To open your clear abilities,
To be with your senses,
To fuel your creativity,
And to find meaning in your life.
So feel free to come back here as much as you'd like.
There are a few other guided curiosities here on my tracks,
And I'll be adding more.
So thank you so much for joining me.
It's an honor to walk people through these journeys.
Namaste.
