Hi there,
My name is Jessie Baines.
I'm an associate professional clinical counselor and I wanted to just give a brief introduction on metta meditation also known as loving-kindness meditation.
So I have tried a variety of this form of meditation and I just wanted to bring my own unique twist to this because I think that it is such an important practice and it's very special to me because you know as I am a mental health counselor and I use it in practice but I also use it in a very personal level.
This is something I try to utilize in my everyday life.
So I really try to bring a unique blend of professional insight and personal passion to the sessions that I'm going to be creating.
And for me metta,
It's not just a technique,
It's honestly a way of living,
Right?
It's about starting with ourselves with the yet you know simple but a profound type of way.
I'm just using simple phrases just like may I be happy,
May I be healthy,
You know may I live with ease.
This practice though it's more than repeating words,
It's about really filling our lives with genuine compassion and extending that warmth outward.
And again this is just a brief summary of the different layers that come with this kind of practice.
And I think what sets my approach apart is my commitment to making metta more accessible and relatable.
I believe that everyone can benefit from this practice regardless of where you are in your life's journey and regardless of your age and how much experience you have with meditation.
So you know whether you're feeling overwhelmed by daily stress or just navigating through tough relationships or just looking for a moment of peace,
Metta meditation can really offer a great way to emotional freedom and just connection.
So through my sessions I really aim to empower you not just to practice metta but really to be able to live it in your day-to-day life.
So I hope that together we can explore how to weave that kindness into the fabric of our everyday lives and creating that kindness ripple outward.
And I'll go more in-depth into the benefits of metta and kind of put out recordings in phases because there are phases to it,
Right?
Like it may take some time for some people to be able to practice sending loving words to themselves.
You may need to spend some time just on that part.
And you know at the end of it,
Right,
The goal is to also be able to send loving thoughts to someone who may have wronged us or hurt us in some way.
And that's something I'll go more in-depth and you know as I record these sessions.
But I appreciate you listening to this and and just kind of giving you a brief understanding of what metta is and why I believe it's important.
And I hope you'll join me and you know listen to these sessions and really try to take in what you are receiving from these.
Thanks so much for listening.
