Hello,
And welcome to this meditation.
I'm Jennifer Ellis.
Today,
We will do a visualization meditation.
It's called Connecting to Nature.
When you're ready to begin with me,
Find a place where you can be comfortable and uninterrupted.
When you're settled in,
Close your eyes and just be in this present moment,
This moment of the here and now.
It's time to go outside,
At least in our mind.
We will tune into the peace of nature,
Perhaps even feeling one with the earth.
I invite the picture in your mind,
A local forest or woodland area.
If you can't think of one you've been to,
Just make one up in your mind.
Create your ideal forest,
Woodland area.
Nature can often help us recharge our batteries.
We can forget how important sunlight,
Fresh air,
And the earth are for our well-being.
As we get caught up in work,
Family,
Hobbies,
Cleaning,
And all that,
Sometimes those things such as just being outside go second or maybe not at all in our day.
So at least we'll go outside in our mind.
See yourself in the forest,
Woodland area you identified or created.
See it.
See yourself finding a place that looks inviting.
And when you do,
Just sit,
Sit,
Be,
Experience your surroundings.
I'll give you some time of silence to really delve into this and create this beautiful picture in your mind.
Feel the sun.
It is a beautiful,
Pleasant warmth in the chill of winter.
Sunlight provides us with vitamin D,
Which in turn can help us with our immune support,
Calcium levels,
Healthy bones,
And more.
It's also been studied as a support for mental wellness.
Feel and experience the oxygen,
The oxygen outside,
That maybe fresh,
Crisp air.
It's filling our lungs.
And maybe just feel the ground beneath you where you're sitting.
What does it feel like?
Maybe it'll help ground you if you're feeling kind of scattered.
Experience the touch of nature.
Nature can be so magical,
The way things grow,
The wildlife,
The colors,
The shapes.
In your visualization,
Do you see anything rather magical in your area?
When we are present with our surroundings,
Not sidetracked by technology and mind chatter,
We can really experience what is around us.
Practice this now in your visualization.
Try to see everything,
The details,
The magic.
Experience your nature's surroundings fully.
And I'll give you some time to delve into that in silence.
Continue to look around the area.
Are there any animals?
What types of trees are around you?
What colors are you experiencing?
Are there any fairies?
Seeing is believing,
And this is your visualization.
Take a few more moments of silence to expand the view of your landscape.
Take it all in.
Now tune into your sense of smell.
What does this area smell like?
Are there flowers?
Are there any fruit trees?
Maybe it has that grounding,
Soily tree scent that just reminds us maybe of a forest,
Or maybe there's pine or evergreen,
And it reminds us of the holidays.
Again,
This is your visualization.
What are you smelling in this area?
And next,
What sounds are you hearing?
Are there birds?
Is it a gentle breeze?
Tune into the sounds.
When you are in the present moment,
You can notice more keenly the things you hear,
Even the smallest sounds.
Tune in.
What do you hear?
Now I invite you to take a few more moments to just pause and notice.
You can notice how you feel.
Notice how you feel physically,
Mentally.
Notice any emotions.
Notice what it feels like to connect to nature,
Even if it's just in your mind for this short period of time.
And as you sit here in your perfect forest,
Woodland area,
Do you feel any more clear,
Open?
Are you feeling less stressful?
Maybe there's more energy.
Notice your energy.
Notice if maybe your energy has tuned into that connection to nature.
Often nature has a way of supporting our energy,
Even if it's just in our mind in a visualization meditation.
And now when you're ready to return to your everyday life,
Take a moment to thank the forest,
Woodland area for this experience.
And know that this meditation is available to you anytime you feel maybe trapped in your house from a snowstorm or a hurricane or a rainstorm and you just really are craving that connection to nature.
You can visit nature in your mind and it can definitely support you.
When you're ready to open your eyes,
Bring yourself back to your present moment,
Your present physical space and the time you were doing this meditation.
When you do open your eyes,
See the light of your room.
And once again,
Say thank you to the connection to nature and thank you to yourself for taking this time out for yourself.
I so appreciate you joining me.
