Welcome to your chakra balancing meditation.
Before we begin,
Find a comfortable seated or lying down position.
This is a great meditation to do lying down with your legs fully extended,
Your arms to your sides,
Palms facing up.
If this isn't an option for you,
A seated position will work well either on the floor or in a chair.
A chakra is an energy center.
We all have seven main chakras,
Starting at the base of our spine and working their way up to the crown of our head and connecting us to Source.
These energy centers shine out through the front and the back of our bodies.
So as you turn your attention to each of these chakras,
Make sure that you allow the light to emit from the front and the back of your body.
When you've found your comfortable lying down or seated position,
You'll bring your attention to your breath.
You'll begin this meditation by using a box breath.
I will guide you on the first three rounds of this breath,
And then you will continue on your own for about a minute before you turn your attention to the base of your spine and focus on your root chakra.
Begin by inhaling for a count of three.
Inhale,
Two,
Three.
Hold,
Two,
Three.
Exhale,
Two,
Three.
Hold,
Two,
Three.
On this next breath,
We're going to go to a four count.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four.
If you feel comfortable,
Move to a five count for this breath.
If it feels like it's too much,
Stay to the three or four count.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four,
Five.
Continue your breath at the same pattern.
Inhaling,
Holding.
Exhaling,
Holding.
If three felt good and right,
Stay at three.
If five felt better,
Stay at five.
If you feel you can extend the lengths of your breaths and holds,
Feel free to do so,
But don't pass a ten hold.
And remember,
What feels good today may be different tomorrow or different from yesterday.
So see what feels good and right for you in the moment.
Continuing your box breath,
I'll let you know when to bring your attention to your root chakra.
Allow your breath to return to its natural rhythm and cadence.
And turn your attention to the base of your spine where your root chakra lives.
Visualize a bright and powerful red light emanating from the front and the back of your body.
Imagine this light growing stronger and brighter with each breath you take.
The root chakra is where our survival instincts and safety and grounding reside.
With each breath you take,
Feel the light growing and enjoy the grounding feeling to the Earth that this bright light facilitates.
Allow your attention to slowly climb up below your belly button to your sacral chakra.
Visualize a bright and growing orange light shining out the front and the back of your body,
Growing brighter and stronger with each breath.
Your sacral chakra houses your creativity and your passion.
Allow this light to ignite those things as it grows stronger and more powerful.
Guiding your attention up above your navel and your stomach to your solar plexus chakra.
Take a moment to imagine this bright yellow light emanating from the front and the back of your body,
Growing brighter and stronger with each breath.
Your solar plexus chakra is what informs your personal power and your confidence.
And as you turn your attention to this light and ignite this light so that it grows brighter and stronger,
Strengthen these feelings of personal power and confidence.
Slowly drifting up to your heart center,
You'll find a beautiful green light at your heart chakra.
Imagine this light growing bigger and brighter and stronger with each inhalation and exhalation.
Your heart chakra is where you feel love and compassion.
And as you allow this light to shine from you,
Imagine your expanded capacity for love and compassion for others,
But most importantly,
For yourself.
As you continue your journey upward and onward,
Turn your attention to your throat chakra.
This is located right in the middle of your neck.
Imagine this beautiful light blue light shining and beaming through the front and back of your throat.
Imagine this light growing brighter and stronger with each breath you take.
Your throat chakra is your ability to communicate and express yourself.
Imagine how well this is being enhanced as you turn your attention to that bright and beautiful light that grows stronger with each breath.
Take a moment to turn your attention to your third eye chakra.
The third eye chakra is located in your forehead,
Right between your eyebrows.
Visualize this beautiful indigo dark blue light beaming from the front of your head and through the back of your head.
Imagine it growing brighter and stronger with each breath.
The third eye chakra houses your intuition and your inner wisdom.
As you breathe into and out of this chakra,
Feel the heightening of your intuition and your inner wisdom.
At last,
Turn your attention to your crown chakra,
Located right at the top of your head,
Shining up to the sky,
A beautiful purple light.
As you inhale and exhale,
Allow this light to grow brighter and stronger,
And take a moment to truly feel your connection to the divine and your spiritual nature being deepened.
Inhaling and exhaling as this light grows and flourishes and connects you to Source.
Now,
Settling in to this beautiful rainbow of light that you've acknowledged and attended to,
Take a few moments to breathe deeply and visualize all of your chakras aligned,
Balanced,
And glowing with vibrant energy.
When you feel ready and called to,
Slowly begin to bring your awareness back to your body,
Back to your breath.
And when it feels good and right,
Allow your eyes to begin to open.
If ever you are feeling out of balance,
Return to this meditation and take a few moments to realign and create harmony within your chakras.
And as you move through the rest of your day,
Allow yourself to feel balanced and continue to walk with these beautiful lights shining ahead of and behind you.
And remember to look for the rainbow in today.
Namaste.
