Welcome,
And thank you for joining me.
This meditation is titled,
Ten Minutes of Peace.
Let's begin.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position for this meditation.
This could be sitting in a chair with your back straight and your head aligned with your spine,
Or perhaps lying down on your back.
Whatever feels right for your body today,
Go ahead and allow yourself to get into that shape now.
When it feels right,
Close your eyes.
Let's begin with a simple breathing exercise to help you settle in.
We'll breathe in for a count of four seconds,
Hold for four,
Exhale and breathe out for four,
And then hold for four.
I'll guide you through three rounds.
Breathe in,
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Now go ahead and let your breath return to its natural rhythm.
Begin to notice your breath.
Do you feel it in your nose,
Your chest,
Your belly?
Don't try to change it.
You don't need to do anything here.
Just observe your breathing without any judgment.
The inhale,
Exhale,
Like waves rolling in,
And then gently rolling away back to sea.
If your mind begins to wander to other places at any time during this meditation,
That's okay.
When you notice it happening,
Just acknowledge it,
And then return your focus back to your breath.
Start to slow down your breath now,
Just a little bit.
Inhale slowly through your nose,
And exhale slowly through your mouth.
See if your exhale can be just a little bit longer than your inhale.
I'd like you to imagine now that you are sitting comfortably at the top of a peaceful mountain summit.
The air is clear.
You can feel a soft breeze against your skin.
All around you,
The world is silent and beautiful.
Every breath is filling your lungs with clear mountain air.
We'll stay here for a little while now.
Let yourself rest fully in this space.
As we near the end of this meditation,
Start to bring your attention back to your body.
Go ahead and slowly wiggle your fingers,
Then your toes.
And finally,
When you're ready,
Go ahead and open your eyes and begin to take in the space around you.
Notice how much lighter you feel,
And how much calmer you are now than when you began.
How deeply relaxed you have become.
Thank you for sharing this space with me.
This space is always here for you,
Anytime you choose to return.
