Congratulations,
You've decided to carve out a few minutes of time for yourself,
A few important minutes to slow down,
Rebalance and center within your day.
You may do this meditation anywhere and anytime.
Find a private space where you will be uninterrupted for the next short while.
If it can be hard to find some privacy within your environment,
I suggest doing this exercise from a bathroom.
As we attend to our physical needs,
This is a great opportunity to practice this mindful break.
Ready to reset?
Let's begin.
Find a comfortable position.
You can sit,
Stand or lie down,
Gently closing your eyes if you wish and allow the weight of gravity to anchor you to the ground,
To your chair or to the furniture beneath you.
Slowly leaning into the support it offers.
Slowly turning your attention from the outside world to your inner world.
Coming to know what it's like to be in your body,
Right here and right now.
Coming to notice your breath,
The way your body is breathing in this moment without you controlling it,
Just as it is.
No judgments on the breath,
No right or wrong.
Just watch it,
Get curious.
As you're noticing,
See where you feel it the most.
Maybe you're most aware of your breath as it comes in your nostrils,
Mouth,
In your chest,
Possibly the movement in your ribcage or deep in your belly.
Now pay attention to the quality of the breath.
Is it nice and smooth or bumpy,
Feeling deep or shallow,
Fast or slow or any other quality?
This is how you're breathing right now and nothing needs to change in this moment.
So let's stay here for two more breaths.
And now if you chose to close your eyes,
You can slowly open them,
Taking a look around you and coming back to your external world,
Feeling calm,
Grounded and reset.
