On Relationships with the Self,

Welcome to Day 1 of Holy Shivers Relationship Exploration Meditation Series.

Glad to see you're here to nourish your soul with something new and different today.

We're going to start this off by talking about perspective.

It's a vague term,

So we'll tweak it in such a way that we can use perspective,

On one perspective,

To optimize ourselves and our perspectives in life.

Because it's all about our perception of things.

No one sees what you see from your eyes and context,

For better and for worse.

Surely your mind is unique and intricate and beautiful,

Yet our very strengths can often be our greatest weaknesses.

Very often,

All it takes to overcome fear,

Anger,

Or anxiety about an outcome is a rearrangement of fact.

If we understood things differently,

They'd change.

When things aren't going right according to our desired plans,

Or someone disappoints us somehow,

According to our expectations,

We get stuck in a whirlwind of ego-driven thoughts and allow that script to take over our minds.

We immediately bring our minds to a place of,

This person didn't call me back because they think such and such of me.

That one took forever to respond,

So they must be trying to send a message to distance themselves.

There are so many possible outcomes.

And with a mind like ours,

Our human mind that generates over 50,

000 thoughts per day,

It can all lead to overthinking,

Possible anger,

Or helplessness and self-victimization,

Or just simply giving up and resigning to do anything about it,

Perhaps even by numbing and escaping it.

Screw them types of attitudes when made prematurely out of self-defense.

Honestly,

Don't provide us with any real growth,

And we might just miss the lesson or the insight behind it.

What we forget to realize in an acute moment of disappointment or stressful stimuli is that there are so many possible reasons that things could be going a certain way,

And so many reasons things could uniquely be triggering us to react.

So why are we picking the one that makes us look and feel bad?

Why are we picking the one that makes it seem like we're not loved or worthy?

We have to get to a place where we can naturally recognize that script is taking place.

Because the world is generally not against us.

Things happen to us for our own good and growth.

And for that,

We have the rest of our spiritual journey ahead.

What's important right now is to trust in the process of reflection.

The universe is both outside of you and inside of you.

You hold all the outcomes and you hold the capacity to shift things from negative to positive,

Positive to negative,

From positive to more positive,

And from negative to even bigger negative.

It matters so much to know this,

And that your sensational ass is here today,

Willing to give it a chance for you and for others.

They're all one of the same.

When you heal,

Things heal around you.

People feel your frequency.

So it's all about perspective.

Let's dial it back to something simple.

A catered event at a luxury hotel can seem sad and lonely to someone who isn't at peace with themselves.

And a supermarket cake with a bottle of Coca-Cola can be the most luxurious party to a small child.

I hope you're sitting back and resting your arms in a comfortable position.

Close your eyes gently,

If you haven't already,

And just listen.

Listen to the sounds around you,

Wherever you are.

A clock ticking,

Birds chirping,

Perhaps you hear the city or the beach,

Waves crashing,

A dog barking.

Remain aware,

Yet softly open to drifting.

Take a leap and try to bring your mind to a place of calm.

A place where your daily struggles do not matter.

A moment in time in your future,

Next week,

The week after,

Or months from now where you are thriving and none of this matters.

If you're having a great day,

Imagine it continuing.

Imagine riding that wave,

This feeling accompanying you through life.

And knowing how to bring it back when it goes away.

Now relax into your seat,

Take a deep breath,

And put your hand on your heart.

Rid your mind of thinking for the next few minutes.

Focus on your breath,

My voice,

And allow the empty space to make you comfortable.

Get comfortable with your space in such a way that you know you can come back to it.

It's always here for you when you need it.

Because you,

My dear,

Are never going to go away.

So cherish the space you have to yourself right now.

If you have any thoughts coming through,

Making your mind busy,

Thank them for coming your way,

And release them without judgment.

How can you give yourself what you need to get through this moment?

Feel free to slowly open your eyes and take note of how you're feeling right now.

As you go about your day,

Take an observative stance and levitate every once in a while into a third-party perspective.

Step back,

Hear yourself listening,

And observe yourself seeing.

Be willing to shift your thinking into various points of view.

It's hard to pick just one right one.

All are justified.

Our responsibility is to choose the one that honors our virtuous growth and be tolerant of anyone who hasn't learned this yet.

Lastly though,

What I'd like for you is to get a feel for who you are today,

Your vibe,

From a third-party view today.

Just reflect on this.

Namaste.

This miniseries is one I will return to again and again. My take away, the power of perspective. 💞
