Hey,
Welcome back,
This is Heather with Her Wellbeing,
Ayurveda and yoga.
And today,
For this podcast episode,
I'm guiding you through a short mini meditation about
being enough.
I know this is a hard one,
And I can feel some of you already rolling your eyes,
Because
you've seen this before,
I'm sure.
However,
Many of us may have a hard time buying into this,
That we are enough.
And I have some other suggestions if this idea is challenging,
That you are enough,
Just as you are.
Let's take a comfortable seat or lie down in a restful position,
Take a moment to check
in with your breath.
Just notice how your body is being breathed.
Feel your body being supported.
Take a few breaths to release some tension,
Wherever tension is felt in the body,
Or if
there's tension in the mind,
Take a few breaths to let go of those thoughts or feelings.
A substitute for I am enough may be any of the following.
I don't have to check all the boxes today.
I don't have to complete my entire to-do list.
It doesn't change who I am.
Who I am is not based on what I can get done on any given day.
I don't have to be all things.
I don't have to do all the things,
And that's okay.
Take a moment to breathe and think of your own phrases or mantras that you might be able
to use for yourself that releases you from the obligation of being perfect today.
Knowing that there is no perfect,
That is an unrealistic goal that will only drive you nuts and maybe those around you too.
You might start with a very simple phrase like,
It's okay,
It's okay that I don't get
everything done today.
Or maybe even,
It's all right if I take a break.
I'm doing all that really needs to be done today.
Everything else will fall into place.
I'll get to it tomorrow.
I'm happy with what I've accomplished today so far,
Or at least I'm willing to be satisfied
with what I am able to accomplish today.
I am doing my best.
I'm doing my best,
And that's all that I can do.
That's all that I can expect myself to reasonably do on any given day.
Tomorrow there will be more things,
More fires to put out.
So today,
Maybe I can be happy,
Or at least somewhat satisfied with what I have accomplished.
It's okay.
It's okay to not get to this mental finish line in my mind.
I know that I'm never really going to get there.
That's okay.
I'm doing what needs to be done today.
Take a little while longer to think some kind thoughts for yourself.
You might even invite the notion that you have accomplished everything you needed to
do today.
Imagine what that feels like,
And for just these next few moments,
Really feel that.
Imagine what that's like and what that feels like.
Really breathe that in.
Give yourself some credit because you have done important things today.
Appreciate those things,
And probably most importantly,
You being you.
You just being you because there's no one else like you,
And you bring something special
to the table that no one else can because there's no one like you.
So thank yourself just for showing up and being you,
And there are plenty of days if
that's all you can do,
That's all you do,
That's enough.
I'm going to give you a few more moments of quiet to soak that all in,
And it's okay
if you resist these thoughts,
These suggestions.
Have compassion for yourself.
It's okay.
It's all right if it's not a good fit right now.
I invite you to come back and listen again to see how these suggestions change for you,
Or at least be a springboard for other thoughts that you can come up for yourself that help
to soothe you when you feel like you're in that marathon again,
A marathon where the
finish line never comes.
Come back,
Sit,
Relax,
Listen,
And see how the practice evolves.
You're always welcome here,
And any experience is welcome.
All your feelings are welcome.
There are no right or wrong feelings.
It's just you being you,
And you are welcome,
All of you.
This is Heather with Her Wellbeing,
Ayurveda,
And yoga,
Signing off until next time.
Take care of yourself.
Bye for now.
