Hello,
And welcome to Community Healing in Connection.
I am so grateful you're here.
This is an invitation to reconnect with yourself,
Not by doing,
But by listening.
Today we explore community,
The kind of connection that helps the nervous system soften,
The heart feel held,
And the body remember.
It does not have to do this alone.
This meditation is part of my Float A Wellness collection,
A reflection of my own journey of healing,
Listening,
And learning how to be well.
May this offering support you as you begin or continue your own flow to wellness.
Finding a comfortable place to land,
Seated or lying down,
Allowing your body to feel supported.
Take a moment to notice the surface beneath you,
The space around you.
Begin to breathe in and out through your nose,
Slow and steady.
Simply arriving here is enough for now.
Community is often misunderstood as something we have to keep up with,
Show up perfectly for,
Or earn our place within,
But the body experiences community differently.
Community is not performance,
It is presence.
It is the experience of being seen,
Being supported,
Being allowed to be human in the company of others.
And sometimes community begins in a very small way,
With one safe person,
One honest conversation,
One moment of being seen.
You don't need to have the perfect community today.
You don't need to feel good at connection.
You only need to notice what it feels like to soften around the possibility that you are not alone.
For a long time,
I thought healing was something I had to do privately,
Quietly,
Independently,
Without the support of others.
But over time,
I learned the body doesn't heal only through effort.
It heals through safety.
And safety is often strengthened in connection.
In the presence of people who allow you to be where you are,
Who don't rush your process,
Who don't ask you to explain,
Who simply stay.
Even one small thread of connection can change the way the body holds itself.
It can soften the guarding.
It can loosen the grip.
It can help the nervous system remember,
I am held.
I am safe.
As we move into the meditation,
Take a moment to get even more comfortable,
Continuing to breathe in and out through the nose,
Closing your eyes or softening your gaze.
Allowing the body to be at rest,
Allowing the breath to flow with ease,
Breathing in,
Receiving what you need in this moment,
Breathing out,
Softening what you're ready to do.
No effort,
No forcing,
Just allowing yourself to arrive here in stillness.
You might imagine a sense of connection,
Not crowded,
Not demanding,
Just steady.
A feeling of safety,
Grounded,
Easy to exhale within,
Or perhaps community feels simpler still,
A circle of warmth,
A quiet light,
A steady presence beside you.
Notice how the body responds when it senses support,
Shoulders softening,
The jaw unclenching,
The belly easing,
And as if the body is remembering,
I don't have to brace in every direction,
I can be held.
Let the possibility of connection be enough for now.
Now,
Allow the body to rest here,
Not doing,
Not fixing,
Just being.
Notice where the body meets the surface beneath you,
A quiet sense of support,
A feeling of being held.
If the mind begins to wander,
That's okay.
Gently return your attention to the breath again and again.
This returning is the practice.
If it feels supportive,
Gently remind yourself,
I am connected,
I am supported,
I am here.
Let the words land,
And then fade.
Rest here for a little while,
In the simplicity of breathing,
Of being,
Of allowing.
Let your body practice receiving,
The feeling of being supported,
Even now,
Even here,
Resting in stillness.
Begin to notice the breath again,
The gentle rhythm of the inhale and the exhale.
Feel the subtle aliveness within the body,
A quiet openness,
A soft steadiness.
When you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes,
Taking in the space around you.
Community begins when the body realizes it doesn't have to hold itself alone,
And something inside begins to heal.
May you feel supported in seen and unseen ways.
May you remember you are worthy of care,
And may the healing power of connection walk with you as you continue on your very own flow to wellness.
