
Inner Peace
A meditation to find the heart`s natural state of inner peace and stability. We rest the heart in this inner peace, joy, calmness, and clarity and we radiate this energy of peace to the world around us.
Transcript
We sit comfortably,
The back comfortably straight,
Not too stiff,
Not too loose,
The eyes closed and the heart open,
And we bring our attention,
Our awareness to our own body,
Being aware of the contact of the body with the floor,
With the chair,
Being aware of the arms,
The hands resting on the legs,
The back nicely straight,
Like 33 coins piled on top of each other,
And we can drop the shoulders,
Just let the shoulders fall,
The neck,
The head,
The forehead all relaxed,
Being aware of the posture,
Being aware of the sensations of the body,
And we can visualize ourselves as we sit here,
Where we send our attention,
We send our mental energy,
So by being aware of the body,
The posture,
The sensations of the body,
Visualizing the body,
We're directing our attention,
Our awareness,
Our energy to our own body where the energy increases,
We send our attention in all directions,
We scatter our energy in all directions,
Now we direct our energy inward where the energy increases,
We don't need to rush to go straight to the breathing because we breathe with the entire body,
We breathe air with our lungs and with our inner energy centers,
We breathe another energy with the entire body,
And by just being aware of the body,
Being aware,
Letting go,
We calm down the entire body breathing process,
We bring our attention to the breathing,
We can focus our attention at the nose,
Where we feel the air passing the nostril,
Just keeping our attention at that one point,
Keeping our attention at the gateway of the breath,
Or if we prefer,
We can focus our attention at the lower abdomen,
Where we feel the abdomen rising on the in-breath and falling on the out-breath,
We keep our attention centered with the breathing and with the present,
The past,
The future,
For the time of our meditation,
We don't need to concern ourself with,
Just being aware of this present moment as it arises,
As it passes away,
Being aware of the breathing in,
Being aware of the breathing out,
Being aware of body,
Being aware of mind,
Being aware of all that contacts the mind from outside or from inside,
Being aware of all that contacts the mind through the five bodily senses,
And being aware of all that forms in the mind,
And we make it all part of the practice,
Watching these sensations arising,
Watching them pass away,
Sound arises,
We don't control the outside world,
If we consider sound to be a disturbance,
Then it's a disturbance,
If we make it part of the practice,
It becomes part of the practice,
Just being aware of ear contact,
Or sound vibration passing through the body,
Arising and passing away,
Being aware of thoughts,
Memories,
States of mind,
And again we make it part of the practice,
We observe these bubbles in the mind,
These mirages in the mind,
These fluctuations of mental energy as they appear,
As they pass away,
We don't try to stop the mind from thinking,
We simply stop to energize the thinking process,
We simply observe without taking interest,
Without reacting with like or with dislike,
Just watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
Observing these thoughts,
These bubbles in the mind,
As they appear,
As they pass away,
Just staying with the bare awareness,
We take a step back,
Just watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
Keeping our attention centered,
Anchored with the breathing,
Breathing in,
Being aware of the breathing in,
Breathing out,
Being aware of the breathing out,
We take a step back,
And we take a step up,
We watch from the perspective of higher consciousness,
From the perspective of higher consciousness,
All that contacts the mind is simply physical phenomena,
Mental phenomena,
Arising and passing away,
At the level of higher consciousness,
The heart stays cool and clear,
Calm and clean,
At the perspective of lower consciousness,
The heart becomes a punch bag,
The heart becomes a football,
As we kick the heart around,
In all directions with all our desires,
As we squeeze and burn the heart,
With anger to past,
Anxiety towards the future,
Keeping our attention centered with the breathing,
Watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
The fluctuations of mind subside,
These bubbles in the mind subside,
And we find our own inner oasis of peace,
Of calmness,
Of clarity,
Of contentment,
We find our own inner sanctuary,
Our own inner sacred place,
Our own inner chapel,
Where the mind becomes refreshed,
And the mind becomes recharged,
Just watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
The heart becomes refreshed,
We clear the heart,
We disentangle the heart,
We unclutter the heart,
And as we keep our attention with the breathing,
With the body,
We keep our energy with the body,
The heart becomes unified,
No longer scattered in all directions,
Unified and energized,
Energized with a divine energy,
Energized with the life force energy,
The light force energy of the universe,
We stop to choke our heart,
We stop to constrict the heart,
With aversion to past,
Aversion to future,
Anger,
Anxiety,
Squeeze and burn the heart,
Keeping our attention only in the present,
The heart can open,
The heart can breathe,
Breathing this inner divine energy,
This divine energy,
The life force,
Light force energy of the universe,
Fills the heart,
Saturates,
Suffuses,
Floods the heart,
As the heart fills with this life force energy,
We feel more alive,
We feel more awake,
We feel more alert,
Clearing the heart,
Unifying and energizing the heart,
The energies become more and more refined,
The inner peace becomes more and more refined,
Deeper and deeper,
As the energies become more and more refined,
The consciousness becomes more and more refined,
Because the consciousness operates through these inner energies,
This inner refined energy,
Sublime energy,
Fills the heart,
Fills the entire body,
And we feel the sense of ease,
Of comfort,
Of well-being,
Of harmony,
We feel normal,
This is how the heart should be all the time,
It's not normal to be always in a state of agitation,
It's not normal to be always in a state of inner turmoil,
With our heart bounced in all directions,
The normal state of the heart is simply inner peace,
Inner joy,
Inner contentment,
So all we do in our meditation is we find our own normal natural state of mind,
We clear the heart and we energize the heart,
And then we find something very wonderful inside,
We find our own inner chapel,
Our own inner place of peace,
Place of strength,
Place of security,
Stability,
As we let go of all these things which make the heart insecure,
Unstable,
The heart becomes stronger and stronger,
More and more secure,
The heart becomes more and more powerful,
As it fills with this inner divine energy,
Our power of mind,
More powerful but more gentle,
The heart becomes lighter and lighter,
But always more stable,
More secure,
The heart becomes still,
Still but overflowing,
This divine energy upwelling from the heart,
Like holy water,
Upwelling from a holy well,
And we can simply rest within,
Resting in peace,
Resting in contentment,
Resting in dignity,
We can sit like a king,
Like a queen,
Sitting on a throne,
A throne of overflowing living waters,
Overflowing living light,
We get a greater and greater reverence for our own heart,
As we see our own inner divine nature,
Greater sense of self-worth,
Self-esteem,
As the consciousness becomes more and more uplifted,
More refined,
More sublime,
Just watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
Always watching the mind,
Always knowing what is forming in the mind right now,
These mind bubbles,
These mind mirages,
Just watching,
Observing,
Letting go,
We observe them but we don't energize them,
Watching as they appear,
Watching as they pass away,
The inner peace becoming deeper and deeper,
More and more refined,
The consciousness becoming more and more refined,
More and more sublime,
The heart opening wider and wider,
Our area of consciousness becoming wider and wider,
Our inner chapel becomes a cathedral,
Our inner oasis becomes an ocean,
The heart filling and overflowing,
And we can share this energy with the world around us,
Breathing in we focus our attention at the heart chakra and we wish happiness for ourselves,
Breathing out we wish happiness for all beings and we simply let the heart overflow,
And it's like opening an inner water tap,
Inner valve,
As we open the water tap the water gushes out,
As we do this practice the inner energies gush out,
Making the energy field wider and wider,
Stronger and stronger,
Brighter and brighter,
So breathing in,
May I be happy,
We wish happiness for ourselves,
Breathing out,
May all beings be happy,
Wishing happiness for all beings,
Wishing happiness for all beings,
Breathing in,
We wash,
We clear,
We clean the heart,
Breathing out,
We radiate this divine energy to the world around us,
We uplift the world around us,
Breathing in,
May I be happy,
Cooling,
Clearing the heart,
Breathing out,
Radiating this energy to the world around us,
Uplifting the world around us,
Breathing in,
We bring heaven to earth in our own heart,
As we bring these heavenly energies into the heart,
Breathing out,
We bring earth to heaven,
As we uplift the energies of the world around us,
Breathing in joyfully,
Joyfully knowing this practice brings great benefit to ourselves,
Breathing out joyfully,
Knowing this practice brings great benefit to the world around us,
Joyfully knowing that we will get the results of the energy which we radiate,
What we give to the universe,
The universe will give us back many times over,
So as we do this practice we are planting seeds,
The fruit of which we eat later,
Benefiting now and in the future,
Breathing in,
May I be happy,
Breathing out,
May all beings be happy,
And now we just observe the heart,
How does it feel,
Does it feel more open,
More refined,
More at peace,
More steady,
More stable,
More secure,
We watch,
We observe,
And we let go,
Always watching,
Observing,
And always letting go,
We bring our awareness to the body,
Being aware of the body,
The body posture,
The sensations of the body,
We can visualize the body,
And we can visualize the body filled with light,
And as we visualize it so,
We make it so,
We open the heart to this inner divine light,
We bring the hands to the heart,
The palms together,
And now the heart is very strong,
Very bright,
Our power of intention is very strong,
We make the intention to continue with our practice,
Refining the heart,
Strengthening the heart,
And freeing the heart,
We bring the hands to the forehead,
In gratitude,
Respect,
Back down to the legs,
We open the eyes,
And we keep the heart open,
