Welcome to today's meditation.
I'm going to guide you through this lovely meditation on nourishing our bodies.
My name is Faith,
And it's an honor to be here with you today.
I always like to invite people to find a comfortable position before starting a meditation.
This gives us a moment to get in tune with what our body needs,
Asking,
Are we comfortable?
Is there anything I can do for my body right now to make it even a little tiny bit more comfortable?
After you check in with yourself and find out what that might be,
Maybe it's grabbing a mug of tea real quick.
Maybe it's grabbing your coziest blanket.
Or maybe it's going outside.
Let's honor what our body needs and give it to it now.
As we start taking some deep breaths in and out,
Let your body start to settle.
Soften your shoulders,
Unclench that jaw,
And release any tension that you might be holding on to.
It's okay to let it go for right now and be here,
Present in this moment.
We're going to take a little bit of time to reconnect and to honor the body that carries you through each day.
First,
Let's talk about our breath,
The steady flow in and out.
Your breath is nourishment.
With each one,
You fill your body with fresh energy,
Replenishing every cell.
It's not something that we often stop and think about,
But it's amazing what our breath does for us,
What our lungs do for us.
It happens without us giving it a thought,
But it is life.
So let's take a moment here and now to show gratitude and say thank you to those lungs that work so hard.
And now let's think about the rest of our body.
Imagine it as you would a garden.
That may not be something you've ever done before,
And that's okay,
But let's try it now.
This garden is strong,
Resilient,
And ever-changing.
All gardens need care,
Sunlight,
And water to thrive.
Your body is no different.
So,
As you inhale and exhale through this meditation,
Let's think about welcoming in gratitude for nourishment that we receive each day.
That looks like food,
All the nutrients that we provide help care for that garden.
The water refreshes us.
The rest restores us.
See if you can release any judgment or criticism that may come up as you're thinking about your body.
Your body is your home.
It deserves kindness,
Care,
And love.
Let's welcome in a sense of deep appreciation and gratitude for all the ways that your body supports you.
Your heartbeat,
Your breath,
Your strength.
You do not need to earn nourishment.
It is here for you.
So let's sit for a moment in this space of gentle awareness,
Knowing that every mindful choice to nourish our bodies is an act of love.
I think that's so beautiful,
To think of our bodies as a garden.
To think of our bodies as nourishment,
And making those mindful choices to give our bodies that nourishment.
When you're ready,
Let's come on back here to the presence,
But what I don't want you to leave is this image of your garden and what it needs from you today.
So go ahead and open those eyes,
And if there's not already,
Bring a nice smile to your face.
Being proud and grateful for this body of yours.
Know that that nourishment is not just what you give your body,
It's also the way you care for yourself with love and intention.
Thanks so much for joining me on this meditation.
I hope it was just what you needed.
Until we meet again,
Be well.
