Welcome.
My name is Faith,
And I'm going to be your guide today as we travel through this meditation on finding patience and presence.
Let's start by finding a comfortable position and allowing your body to settle.
Consider what your body needs right now to be comfortable.
Maybe it's sitting with your spine tall,
Feet flat on the ground,
Or maybe it's lying down for a moment and just taking a moment for peace.
Whatever that comfortable position is for you,
Once you're there,
Let's take a deep breath in through the nose,
Filling your lungs,
And then exhale through your mouth.
And as you do,
Feel the weight of the day begin to soften.
Let your breath guide you,
Slow and steady.
There's no rush.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Bring your awareness to this moment.
The gentle rhythm of your breath,
The subtle sensations in your body,
And the quiet hum of the life around you.
Notice how time expands when you allow yourself to simply be.
Patience is not passive.
It is a deep trust that everything is unfolding in its own rhythm and time.
It is the wisdom to wait,
To hold space without grasping.
It's not easy to do in today's world,
In a world where we want to know the answer right now.
Patience is not easy.
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of a calm lake.
The surface is still,
And you can see the reflection from the sky above.
If a stone would be thrown into this water,
Ripples would appear.
But in time,
That lake will return to stillness.
This is the nature of patience,
Allowing what comes,
Knowing that clarity will always return.
With each inhale,
Invite in this sense of ease and calmness.
With each exhale,
Release the urge to control or rest.
As you breathe here,
Consider what you need to be this calm lake,
To have this still surface.
And even when a stone is thrown in,
The ripples appear,
But again,
It returns to stillness.
Let yourself rest in the simplicity of right now.
Hearing and feeling your breath moving in,
And breath moving out.
The steady rhythm of your heartbeat,
Whatever noise you hear around you,
Just let yourself be here now.
Taking a few breaths,
Enjoying the presence.
I am breathing in,
And I am breathing out.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the space around you.
You can start by gently moving your fingers and toes,
Stretching your arms above you,
And then gently opening your eyes.
I invite you to carry this patience that you found here with you,
And know that you can always come into the present moment by connecting with your breath.
You can use the imagination,
The mind's eye of that calm lake.
It's yours whenever you need it.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I wish you peace as you move forward in your day.
