Welcome to this meditation on transforming rage into authentic power.

Sit with your spine straight and strong,

Embodying the dignity that is your birthright.

You are here to reclaim the energy that rage has been holding for you.

Place your hands flat on your thighs,

Palms down,

Feeling connected to your own stability and strength.

Take several deep breaths,

Knowing that you have the capacity to feel all of your emotions safely.

Rage often gets labeled as bad or dangerous,

Especially for those recovering from love and sex addiction.

But rage is energy,

Powerful,

Primal energy,

That arises when our boundaries have been violated,

When our needs have been dismissed,

When our dignity has been threatened.

This energy is not the problem.

What matters is how we channel it.

Now bring your attention to your body and notice if there are any areas of tension,

Heat,

Or energy buildup.

Perhaps your jaw is clenched,

Your fists are tight,

Your chest feels compressed.

Whatever you find,

Breathe into these spaces with acceptance.

Your body is holding your truth.

Now imagine your rage is like fire,

Powerful,

Transformative,

Potentially destructive if uncontrolled,

But also capable of providing warmth,

Light,

And energy when properly channeled.

You are learning to be the wise keeper of this fire,

Not its victim.

Now think about what your rage might be protecting.

Often rage is the guardian of our deeper pain,

The hurt of betrayal,

The anguish of abandonment,

The grief of being unseen or unloved.

Take a moment to honor what your rage has been trying to protect in you.

Place one hand on your heart and feel the beat of your life force.

This is your power,

Not the reactive power of rage,

But the authentic power of someone who knows their worth,

Who can set boundaries,

Who refuses to be diminished.

The power has always been there,

Even when it was hidden beneath layers of compulsive behavior.

Visualize a strong tree growing within your core,

Its roots extending deep into the earth,

Its trunk solid and unshakable.

This tree represents your authentic power,

Grounded,

Growing,

Able to weather storms without being uprooted.

Feel this tree inside you,

Fed by the energy you once expressed as rage.

Now imagine that you can breathe in the fire of your rage and transform it as it moves through your body.

As you inhale,

Draw in that fierce energy.

As you exhale,

Let it become clarity,

Determination,

The courage to speak your truth and maintain your boundaries.

Think of a boundary you need to set or a truth you need to speak.

Feel how the transformed energy of your rage can fuel this healthy action.

This is what authentic power feels like,

Not the desperate power over others,

But the steady power with life,

The power to protect what matters most.

Place both hands on your chest and feel your capacity to contain and direct your emotions.

You are not at the mercy of your feelings.

You are their wise guardian.

You can feel rage without becoming destructive.

You can access your power without harming others.

Breathe into your belly and feel your connection to your authentic desires,

Not the compulsive desires born of unmet needs,

But the genuine desires that arise from knowing and valuing yourself.

This is what your rage has been fighting for,

Your right to have needs,

To take up space,

To be treated with respect.

Rest in this feeling of grounded strength.

Notice how different this feels from both the explosion of uncontrolled rage and the implosion of suppressed anger.

This is the middle path,

Feeling fully while choosing consciously.

Repeat these declarations with fierce gentleness.

I am able to feel my rage without being consumed by it.

I am able to transform anger into authentic power.

I am able to protect my boundaries and dignity with strength and wisdom.

Again,

I am able to feel my rage without being consumed by it.

I am able to transform anger into authentic power.

I am able to protect my boundaries and dignity with strength and wisdom.

Take three more empowering breaths,

Feeling the fire of your life force burning clean and bright within you.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes if they were closed.

Carry this sense of authentic power with you.

Remember,

You are able to be both strong and loving,

Fierce and compassionate.

I found this to be a wise and compassionate way to sit with and transform anger/rage. Retaining the energy of it to use more consciously/wisely rather than dispelling it. It left me feeling calmly strong rather than spent. Thank you 🙏
