Welcome and thank you for sharing your time with me today.

During this breath work practice I'm going to invite you to join me on a journey of release and forgiveness.

Together we're going to create a space for healing and change by simply harnessing the power of your breath and using each exhale as the physical embodiment of release.

Each inhale will take hold of anything that no longer serves you and each exhale will simply let it go.

Using this as the framework for change we're going to enrich this practice by listening to the wisdom of Rumi.

With life as short as a half-taken breath don't plant anything but love.

So while the exhale carries away our old burdens we're going to use each inhale to plant seeds of compassion,

Forgiveness and peace,

Allowing the space within us to fill with the possibility of growth and change.

But before we can start our journey together we must first understand the breathing technique and format that we're going to use today.

Throughout this journey we're going to be inhaling for a count of four and exhaling for a count of four.

You'll be invited to inhale through your nose to a count of four allowing the breath to fill your belly before then expanding your chest.

As you inhale engage your pelvic floor with a gentle squeeze to draw on your creative energy to build a feeling of inner strength and change.

You'll then be invited to exhale through your mouth to a count of four,

Sighing out any tension as you let go of the breath whilst also relaxing your pelvic floor to help build this feeling of release.

Enjoy each exhale with a sigh to help build the feel-good feelings as we journey together.

So in short you'll be inhaling through the nose to a count of four,

Exhaling through the mouth to a count of four.

When we breathe focus on a smooth and rhythmical breathing pattern rather than trying to focus on deepening every breath.

We'll be breathing in time to the rhythm and beats of the music.

You'll hear my voice throughout the practice guiding you to the count of fours.

This will lead us eventually to two purifying breath holds.

The first breath hold will be held after we've emptied the lungs completely.

You'll then roll straight into the second breath hold by me asking you to fully inflate your lungs and then you'll hold those inflated lungs eventually releasing with a cathartic sigh to complete the breath phase of this practice.

If you're not able to complete the breath holds for whatever reason just simply release your breath back to your natural rhythm and carry on immersing yourself in the rest of the practice.

You're welcome to do this practice either seated or lying on your back whichever feels most comfortable for you.

So just take a moment to get comfortable,

Close your eyes or have a soft gaze and just draw your awareness to your natural breath noticing how you feel.

Okay let's get ready to breathe in beats together.

Remember to inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth to the count of four.

Don't force the breath focus on being smooth and rhythmical.

Okay let's begin our journey together.
