Welcome to your quick nervous system reset,
Specifically for mothers who are feeling overwhelmed.
A year ago I became a mother of two and while it's probably been the most challenging year of my life it has undoubtedly shown me the importance and the significance of my inner state.
It's become obvious to me that when I'm relaxed,
Grounded and happy,
My family is relaxed,
Grounded and happy.
The belief is no longer I'll rest when the kids are settled or when all the chores are done.
It's instead my rested state of being allows me to receive the support I need.
This is such a powerful shift and it's truly awakened me further to my power.
So I invite you to settle in and take that first deep inhalation right down into the belly.
It's okay to breathe and to pause for a moment.
Again,
Inhale all the way down.
Receiving from the air around you.
And once more,
A deep full inhalation.
Settling down into yourself.
I'd firstly like to speak to your busy mind.
The mind that's telling you all the things that haven't been done.
All the places you should be.
Thinking through all the little people who need you.
Just notice the thoughts and allow them to be there.
You can settle now.
Because this practice is altering the state of your consciousness.
Which is the state of your reality.
The external chaos is not separate from you.
It is you.
And so by doing this practice,
You are changing the field.
And gently shifting your family's nervous system.
Rest in that knowledge.
Let it really sink in.
And clench your jaw.
And allow it to drop.
You don't have to hold on.
Move down to your shoulders.
And let them fall.
Loosen your grip.
Further down now to the chest.
Make space there.
Allow the air to widen the space.
And fill your heart area.
It's safe for you to receive.
Next,
The belly.
Maybe bring your hands to this space and let them warm you.
Let the warmth soften you here.
Let the warmth soften here.
And now the hips.
Really let go here.
Unclench.
It's safe for you to open this space.
Down to the knees.
Soften the knees.
It's safe for you to be supported.
And finally,
The ankles.
Allow them to be fully held by the space beneath you.
It's safe for you to be held.
Now notice your whole body at once.
From your jaw all the way down to your ankles.
Notice the difference between how you arrived and how you are now.
Even if it's subtle.
Even if it's just 1% softer.
That shift matters.
Your nervous system responds to small,
Consistent moments like this.
And when you soften,
Your children feel it.
When you regulate,
The whole room regulates.
Take one more slow breath.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes or lift your gaze.
Bringing this grounded state back into the rest of your day.
You don't need to wait for everything to be over.
You don't need anything to be done to feel calm.
You get to choose it now.
