The practice of Yoga Nidra can take us to a place where our intuition and bodily intelligence naturally reside and are able to support us in releasing tension, stress and activating inner healing. Ultimately reminding us that we do not need to look outside of ourselves for this healing. That we possess this ability within, and it is always there and accessible. Whilst experiencing Yoga Nidra, we move into a state where we are not fully awake, nor fully asleep. Psychologists call this state a hypnogogic state. Therefore, Yoga Nidra is essentially a meditation technique rather than a relaxation practice. Relaxation is a by-product of the practice.
