It is not possible to renounce Karma. One is always performing Karma in the form of thought, speech or action. So long as one is in the body, it is impossible to give up activities completely. It is when one is detached and unhitched towards the outcome, one is truly liberated. The attachment can be with the object, person or even yourself. it is with the pleasure, pride, identification you get from an object, person or yourself, with the value you place on it. One identify with everything so easily- your body, your thoughts, your opinions, your roles, objects and thus develop attachment. Loss of life in some distant part of the world can make you sigh and move on but how about if it happens in your country, your town, your home or to yourself. Your degree of Identification to something or someone determines your level of attachment or detachment.

Welcome to this mindfulness meditation practice based on karma and attachment.

It is not possible to renounce karma.

One is always performing karma in the form of thought,

Speech or action.

So long as one is in the body,

It is impossible to give up activities completely.

It is when one is detached and unhinged towards the outcome,

One is truly liberated.

The attachment can be with an object or person or even yourself.

It is with the pleasure,

Pride,

Identification you get from this object,

Person or yourself which comes along with the value you place on it.

We identify with everything so easily,

The body,

Thoughts,

Opinions,

Roles,

Objects and thus develop attachment.

Loss of a life in some distant part of the world can make you feel bad but you are able to move on much quicker in comparison to if it had happened in your country or your town or your home or to yourself.

Your degree of identification to something or someone determines your level of attachment or detachment.

With this seed for your soul,

Find a comfortable position to do this meditation practice and if you like you can set an intention in the form of a phrase and repeat in your mind few times.

Your intention could be may I offer my actions fully and let go of what comes after or it could be may I meet each moment as it is without demanding it to be different,

May I release the need to control what I cannot control,

Whisper inwardly few times and set this intention as a guiding compass for this meditation practice.

Once you feel ready,

Bring your attention to your five senses.

Notice how the five senses connect you with objects and people and build this connection and attachment.

How about you notice these connections with awareness and release any attachments yet maintaining love and harmony.

Now allow yourself to move inwards from your outer world and bring your focus in your body.

Noticing any sensations,

Tingling,

Warmth,

Stiffness,

Softness in your body.

If your mind begins to wander,

Bring your attention to your breath,

The life force energy flowing in your body.

Now visualize you are a book in a massive library.

Identify with it and pretend it is you.

Notice how do you feel as a book?

Do you notice you are a new book or an old one?

How does your cover look like?

Notice how you are full of thoughts and understanding.

Some people are interested in you,

You like to be read.

Maybe it will become a big seller,

Famous or maybe not.

Now notice what happens when you close this book.

Close it gently,

You like to be respected.

Open it again and slam it shut this time.

Toss it under a cushion or hide it among other books.

How does this feel?

You don't like to be slammed shut.

You don't want to be put away and lost.

You don't like being dropped or hidden.

Now stop identifying with this book.

Now it is just a book.

Open and close it again.

Put it away or hide it.

Notice how different this feels.

The book is not you anymore.

You might have found a perspective of this book and developed compassion and empathy.

Once you stop identifying yourself as the book,

You just allow yourself to embrace your role,

Your actions,

Righteousness,

Releasing any stickiness or attachment.

When you don't identify with someone or something,

You still embracing oneness and loving kindness for everything.

Embrace detachment with compassion and loving kindness and surrender in the stillness for next few minutes.

Now gently begin to bring your attention back in your body in this moment.

Establish your connection with your outer world with the help of your five senses.

When you feel ready,

Open your eyes and appreciate your effort to do this meditation practice.

To conclude,

I would like to share an ancient Pali mantra,

Keenam Puranam Navam Nathya Sampavam.

It is part of Buddha's declaration upon awakening.

The insight that the cycle of rebirth driven by ignorance has ended.

This mantra is a statement of complete liberation,

Often recited to reflect impermanence,

The ending of suffering and the stopping of new karmic formations.

This mantra expresses the realization that the old conditioning attachments are destroyed.

There is no new arising of ignorance or suffering.

Mind is liberated and one break free the cycle of arising and coming into being.

Thanks for joining me for this meditation practice.

I hope it brought healing energy for you.

Thank you.
