How much do one need to be grateful in life? If you believe that in order to be grateful, you must have certain things in your life, you will always find it hard to be thankful because no matter how much you may have there will still be just as much more you will want to have. Work towards that gives you joy but be grateful for all that you have. When you are grateful, an invisible blanket of peace covers you; it makes you glow, makes you happy, make you strong, make you warm. On the path of emotional transformation, the first and foremost emotion is gratitude.

I surrender to the oneness that binds us all.

Welcome to this meditation practice based on grounding technique.

I've named this meditation Gratitude for Life.

A seat for your soul before we embark on this journey.

I never complain about my life as someone somewhere dreams for a life like mine.

Gratitude is the mother of happiness.

It is the womb that carries the seed of happiness.

A Sanskrit phrase Yatha Trishti Tatha Trishti,

It means as is your vision so is your creation.

If you are grateful for what you have in your life then you will have more reasons to feel grateful for.

With this thought begin to settle in your one seat physically,

Mentally and spiritually.

Arrive in this moment finding your balance and centeredness.

Let your hands rest gently on your lap.

Close your eyes or soften your gaze taking a slow deep breath through your nose and releases gently allowing your body to begin relaxing with each exhale.

If you like you can set an intention for this practice your intention will be your guiding compass for this session.

In your heart affirming I open this practice with the intention to connect with gratitude.

To recognize the simple miracles of being alive,

Breathing and aware.

I choose to shift my attention from what is missing to what is already here.

May this practice be an appreciation for my body,

My breath and the life that flows through me.

As I breathe may I remember that every moment is a gift.

Soften my heart,

Bringing your awareness to this moment,

Noticing the air in and out of your lungs,

Embracing,

Silently whispering in words,

Grateful for this body and my senses,

Your body and your five senses have carried you through every experience,

Every joy,

Every challenge.

The water,

Grateful for the chance to be alive here,

Now begin to move your awareness to each part just as it is,

Starting at the top of your head for housing my mind and my senses.

Thank you ears for allowing me to hear voices,

Music,

Moving down to your mouth,

Whispering,

Thank you mouth for helping me speak.

Bringing awareness to your neck and expressing love,

Moving to your chest and heart,

Informing,

Processing the energy,

Bringing your focus to your hips and pelvis,

Whispering in words,

Thank you hips for grounding me,

For supporting my movement,

Moving on to your legs and knees.

If thoughts arise,

Let them drift,

Passing clouds and return your awareness to the simple rhythm of your breath and the grounded feeling of being in your body,

Now take a moment to sense your entire body from head to toe and supported by the earth.

Visualize roots extending from the base of your spine deep into the earth,

Holding you steady,

Reminding you that you belong here.

Visualize your growing stem and branches and you can decorate this tree rising from the ground towards the immenseness loaded with life.

With the fruits of gratitude,

Allow yourself to become aware of each aspect of your life and the gifts inherent there,

Allow yourself to focus only on what you have already,

It could be anything from your relationships,

Finances,

To health,

Work,

A functioning mind,

Home,

Maybe motherhood,

As you become aware of each gift,

Allow yourself to feel the corresponding feelings of gratitude,

Joy and appreciation.

See how your tree is getting decorated with the fruits of gratitude,

If you like you can decorate this tree with colorful,

Shiny,

The tree fruits of your choice.

Now simply rest,

Breathing,

Grounded and open to all the favorable things you experienced since the beginning till now.

If your mind begins to wander,

Gently return into your breath and the feeling of gratitude,

Reminding yourself that you are alive,

You are here.

Surrender in the stillness for the next few minutes and just cherish your being.

Now gently begin to bring your awareness back in your body in this moment,

Take one more conscious,

Deep,

Nourishing breath.

Exhale slowly releasing,

Any judgment or belief,

No more serving you,

Gently open your eyes,

Noticing how you feel.

You may carry this gratitude with you into the rest of your day,

Remembering that your body is not an object to perfect but a living home to change.
