Welcome to your guided meditation on grounding,

An exercise that allows us to reconnect our mind to our physical body.

To begin,

Find yourself a comfortable seated position with a nice tall spine.

Imagine that you're gently being lifted by the tips of your ears upward.

While simultaneously relaxing the shoulders,

The neck and the jaw.

Allow a softness to melt across the face.

Gently close down the eyes,

Placing your hands face down on your thighs and turn your attention towards your breath.

Start to notice the breath as it flows in and out of the nostrils.

No need to try and change the breath.

We're simply noticing its presence within the body.

Today I'll be guiding you through a journey of your five senses,

Starting off with your sense of smell.

As you continue to breathe in and out of the nostrils,

I want you to take a moment to notice any aromas in the room.

Are they strong or are they subtle?

What feelings,

If any,

Does this scent invoke?

Draw your awareness now to the inside of your mouth.

Soften the tongue,

Maybe swallow a couple of times and start to notice what taste you can decipher.

Is the inside of your mouth sweet,

Sour,

Bitter or savoury?

Guide your awareness now to your ears.

What sounds can you hear?

Perhaps it's the sound of my voice speaking to you,

Or perhaps the sound of music playing in the background.

Are there sounds that you can hear further away?

Or maybe you've drawn in on the sound of your own prana,

Your own breath,

As it travels in and out of the body.

Paying attention now to your external,

Physical body.

Notice the parts of your body making contact with the chair or the floor beneath you.

Let your sit bones feel heavy as you relax into the support of the earth beneath you.

Observe your hands,

Your palms,

Your fingertips.

What can you feel beneath your fingertips?

Perhaps it's the texture of your clothes or the warmth of your skin.

Finally,

I invite you to draw your consciousness to your third eye centre,

Located in the centre of your head,

Parallel to the middle of your eyebrows.

The place where one can see far beyond the ordinary sight.

It is the home of wisdom,

Of insight and of deep spiritual connection.

Take a moment to notice what you see.

Gently start to draw your awareness back into the space around you,

Perhaps inviting some subtle movement back into the body with a wiggle of the fingers and the toes.

And when you're ready,

Gently opening the eyes.

I hope you've enjoyed this grounding meditation.

You can use this five senses grounding technique at any time throughout the day when you've noticed that you've been activated.

Until next time,

Om Shanti.

Nicely paced and allowed space to connect with my inner world through my 3rd eye. Thank you. 🙏🏻
