Today I would like to offer you a technique to use whenever you are having a stressful thought.
We'll begin by bringing awareness to the forehead,
Focusing your mind's eye right at the center of your forehead,
And sending your breath directly to the space on your forehead.
With every breath,
Try to see if you can relax the space,
Letting go of any tension,
Trying to make this spot on your forehead the most softened spot on your body right now,
Relaxing it more and more with each breath.
On your next inhale,
Say in your mind,
I soften.
And on your next exhale,
Say in your mind,
I release.
I soften,
I release,
I soften,
I release,
All the while relaxing your forehead more and more with each passing breath.
And bring to your awareness something in your life that has caused you stress in the recent times,
In recent times,
A stressful thought that you had maybe earlier today or yesterday.
Think about how that made you feel.
Now bring your awareness back to that point on your forehead,
And as you've thought about that thing that stressed you out,
Have you maybe tensed your forehead a little bit?
If so,
Repeat that mantra.
As you breathe,
I soften,
I release,
And keep saying that to yourself until you get your forehead back to how soft it was before you had that thought,
Before you thought about your stressor.
See,
We may not be able to control the things that stress us out necessarily,
But once those thoughts pop into our minds or once those situations come into our reality,
We have the power to internally calm ourselves down,
Bring our awareness to something that we can actually control,
The softness of our forehead.
And by doing this,
By relieving that tension,
By calming our system down,
It may create just enough space to maybe make you not react in the way that you normally would to that stressor.
It may keep you just a little bit more calm,
And the more you practice this,
The easier it becomes.
I hope that this helps,
And thank you for joining me.
I hope to have you back for the next one.
Namaste.
