Grieving for a loved one.

The bond we share with those we dearly love and care about,

Our partner,

Parent,

Teacher,

Sibling,

Child or friend,

Is one of the most sacred connections and profound joys in our human existence.

When a loved and dear one passes,

The pain,

The emptiness,

Overwhelm,

Trauma and emotion that follows can be deeply moving.

The real emotions felt are a reflection of the depth of love and connections that were shared,

Of memories,

Silent moments,

Experiences and closeness.

Rest here now,

Be still,

With your loved and dear one held in the abiding presence of the heart where love is deeply held and felt.

This visualisation offers a quiet,

Reflective,

Open space where one can be reunited with that loving connection once again.

Not only through memory,

But through a quiet,

Enduring,

Timeless presence.

Through the heart of a love that embraces all.

I invite you now to gently close your eyes.

Sit comfortably,

Relaxed,

Silent and still.

Rest your hands in your lap,

Your spine and head straight.

Now breathe in slowly and deeply through the nose.

Pause at the top of the breath,

Then exhale gently through the nose,

Mouth closed.

Again,

A soft,

Full breath in,

Pause and a long,

Relaxed breath out.

Allow your breathing to find its own natural rhythm.

There is nothing to control here.

If thoughts arise,

Let them pass.

Like occasional leaves floating by in a stream.

Remain still,

Breathe deeply.

Direct your awareness now to the heart region,

And rest here just as you are.

Relaxed and still in this moment.

Be fully present with the emotions,

With the loss you are holding.

The quiet numbness felt throughout the body.

The emptiness and heartache.

For the loved one who is no longer here.

Remain fully present in this moment.

Just as you are,

Open,

Raw and tender.

You are not broken.

You are not lost.

You are deeply moved for the dearest one who has passed.

Now,

Bring gently your focus back to the heart region.

Visualise a soft light in that space.

A golden,

Radiant light.

This glowing presence is not new.

It has been silently with you,

With your loved one,

For all of your lives.

Still,

Spacious,

Whole and embracing.

This love is both a memory and the living presence of one radiant,

Inseparable love.

Now,

With each full incoming breath,

See this heart radiance expanding,

Softly,

Gently,

Slowly,

Warmly,

Beyond the physical,

Beyond the human form.

Know that the love you held and shared is not gone.

It has only changed in appearance,

Not in strength.

It continues as an inseparable,

Eternal presence,

That which is timeless.

Feel it as a warmth,

A silence,

A deep knowing.

Feel it as a timeless,

Gentle,

Inner glow.

As a presence within,

Around,

In and through you.

If memories arise now,

Let them be fully present.

Embrace them.

Allow each to float like fragrant lotus petals,

Carried by the wind on the surface of a vast,

Calm ocean.

Let them be just as they are,

Floating,

Light and radiant.

Each petal moves effortlessly and lightly,

Free to move where they are silently being blown.

Rest now,

Be present,

Radiant,

Open and still.

All is in effortless flow of life gently unfolding,

Life passing eternally.

Now remember your loved one,

Not as a fixed image,

Now as a spacious,

Inseparable,

Radiant presence,

A radiant light,

A quiet presence in the heart,

Still,

Open and embracing.

If you wish,

Place a hand softly over the heart,

Feel your own heartbeat as one's own loving Source Presence.

And know that the awareness presence of love you feel never diminishes,

Forms change,

Yet presence remains,

Love is eternal.

Sit fully present now,

As the feel of loving,

Spacious presence,

As the awareness of unconditional love.

Let this love be fully felt,

Not in words,

Not in a body,

But beyond form,

Beyond each breath,

Beyond each petal.

This is a moment of gentle return,

A reunion.

Rest fully,

United as the one love,

Formless and unborn.

And when you are ready,

Bring your awareness softly back to the breath,

To the gentle rise and fall of the chest.

Feel an all-embracing presence,

Around and beyond,

As a spacious,

Timeless awareness.

Take one final deep,

Long,

Slow breath.

Your heart is full and in gratitude.

One is not alone.

Love is here,

Eternally,

As each breath.

Blessings for giving yourself the time to pause,

To hold,

To release,

To be still,

To be aware.

Grief is not something to be fixed,

It is to be something held with tenderness and care.

May this moment be a gentle return,

Not to the past,

But to the living presence of an unconditional love that is never left.

Love is timeless,

Eternally present.

Rest now as the love that knows no distance,

No time and no separation.
