Resting your tired body,
Moments to gift yourself time,
Time that meets perspective,
Time that meets reflection or even time that meets the nothingness.
There's so much value in resting your tired or perhaps overworked body.
As we alleviate the heaviness or the overwhelm of recent happenings,
Let's just start to set the scene for ourselves.
If you're lying down,
Just start to sprawl out your body.
Start to really take up space beneath you.
Reach out your limbs,
Your arms,
Your legs,
Even your fingers,
Even your toes.
And if you're seated,
Perhaps resting up against something.
Finding some sense of comfort here.
And as you nestle in,
Letting the body ease,
Particularly if tension is set in your body.
A kind message to your limbs,
Your muscles,
That it is safe in this moment to let go.
That to let go isn't necessarily to spiral,
But to soften.
A love note to your nervous system,
A love note of permission,
That to let go is to soften sharp edges.
Let's work with a breath of relief now in the body.
A soft breath,
A slow,
Deep inhalation.
Whatever feels good to you,
Start to invite that in.
Let this be something of your own as you start to breathe it in.
Like it's the most nurturing,
Like it's the most nourishing breath that you've breathed in all week,
All day.
And as you breathe out,
You soften into a more rested state.
That the body perhaps feels like it's floating through space.
That any heaviness lifts and you relieve the weight.
And finally,
Starting to feel at ease.
An ease that ripples right from your toes,
All the way up to your shoulders.
Right from the knees,
All the way up to your chest.
Right from your pelvis,
All the way through to your belly button.
Perhaps now inviting a sigh at the mouth.
One that embodies the hum of relief.
One that reminds you of your worthiness to rest your tired body.
One that gives you moments to restore.
As each cell is able to restore back to a state of harmony.
As you realize there is nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Resting your tired body from worry,
From ache,
From noise.
