I am so grateful that you have decided to take another step in this journey together.
In today's poem,
We will discuss how sometimes your cup can be so full with varied emotions that even receiving positive emotions like love or thoughtfulness or consideration can be too much to carry.
So the title of today's poetry reading is Love.
Your love feels like sandpaper on my skin.
You shouldn't feel like that.
Lately,
Every time you express your care or concern,
I rage within.
Why do I do that?
This speaks more about my issues than about your ability to love.
I'm changing and I don't know if for the better.
Please forgive me,
Ma,
Mi madre,
Amada.
The topics we explore in today's poetry reading include the complexities of love,
How when you're so full on the inside,
It's difficult to take another drop,
And the need to explore why.
It's so important to ask questions and to be a curious mind.
Life brings so many situations where we just react and store and react and suppress.
But when do we have a space to feel and to explore why this is that space and this is the time?
So in today's meditation,
As we journey through,
What questions come to mind?
I'm curious,
So as different questions come to mind,
You can either choose to journal them or respond in our chat or just within yourself whisper a silent prayer to Abba Father to help guide you through your emotional healing.
So are you ready?
Okay.
So we're going to inhale in together and exhale.
We're going to do that two more times.
Inhale in and exhale.
Inhale in and exhale.
Now,
Close your eyes.
Center yourself.
Stretch your shoulders.
Unfurl your brow.
Unclench your jaw.
Stretch your neck.
And be present.
As you breathe evenly,
I'm going to ask questions.
Questions that you may not know the answer to right off the top of your head.
And I want you to know that's okay.
Our society often places high regard on knowing.
But you don't have to know.
You just have to be curious and you will find your answer.
So our first question is,
What am I so full of?
Maybe you're full of rage.
Maybe grief.
Maybe unmet expectation.
But whatever you're full of is impeding the flow of something within you.
The next question is,
How much time am I giving to figure that out?
Sometimes we misconstrued what is urgent versus what's important.
An urgent matter may be that your assignment is due at midnight.
An important matter may be that for your mental health and well-being,
You need to meditate.
And oftentimes we give up what's important for what's urgent and deeper repressed issues do not get addressed.
Our third question is,
How can I show myself some compassion today?
You do so much.
Sometimes just being alive in this moment is a feat,
Let alone all the other responsibilities that you have to maintain your life.
You are successful.
No matter what standard of success others impose,
The very fact that you made it out of your mother's birth canal alive is a testament to your success.
Now,
As we reach the conclusion of our meditation together,
We're going to take one final deep breath in and out.
Thank you so much for spending this time together.
And I look forward to seeing you at the next bend in the road.
