Do you have an overactive mind? Do you find it challenging to switch off before going to sleep? This 12-minute guided meditation facilitates a journey into a deep and restful state. This is best done laying down, in the evening before you go to sleep. You could also use this meditation during times of high stress, to alleviate any built-up tension or anxiety. Be guided through the deep sensational jungle of your body, in order to land in a place of boundless rest and relaxation.

This meditation is best done laying down in a position that is super comfortable and a place that is quiet and uninterrupted.

Give up all distractions,

Turn your lights down to a moody low or off completely.

If you're in bed,

Take the time to position your pillow perfectly underneath your head,

Discharging and releasing all of its weight.

If you're under the covers,

Take the time to find your most perfect climate.

As you switch off your space,

Prepare now to switch off your mind.

Let us journey through the dense jungle of the body to a place of deep and boundless rest.

Settle into stillness.

Take a deep breath in.

Let it go fully and completely.

Find another breath,

Just like this.

For most of us,

Our days are filled with wildly tangled thoughts and feelings,

Creating an illusion of captivity.

From the cage of the thinking mind,

Open the hatch.

Welcome yourself into this new space,

The open space of the body that is filled with constellations of support,

Warmth and pure acceptance.

Breathe,

Soften,

Relax.

Feel the vast,

Extensive surface of the skin.

This fleshy wrap of sensory delight,

Tingling,

Glistening.

The safety of this open space allow you to relax the protective outer,

Smoothing the creases,

Freeing the clamps.

Absorbing this spaciousness through each pore of the unlined skin.

The open space of the body that is filled with constellations of support,

Warmth and pure acceptance.

Submerging now from the skin to the thick layers of tissue and muscles that weave,

Loop and fuse effortlessly beneath the surface.

The stillness of the body unravels the tenacious grip of effort in the feet,

The legs,

The arms,

Torso,

The neck,

The head.

The smooth,

Rubbery surfaces of the muscles softening,

Spreading.

Resting beneath is the bones,

Bare,

Heavy and quiet.

Effortlessly holding their wisdom and ancestral stories.

Let their quiet repose.

Permit their graceful descent into stillness.

The electrical currency of the nervous system decelerating and slowing.

Unlocking primitive rest in the deepest systems of the body.

Opening the space for the limitless terrain of the physical being to rest and hibernate in the warmth of this dormant cocoon.
