For this one,
Because I think it's very internal in the work of patients,
I would like us to circuit our bodies much as we do in the first level course for zoetic workshops.
And that would be doing the three-finger mudra.
It's the thumb pointer and what in Eastern traditions is called fire finger.
And so it's kind of an okay sign but with one more finger.
And it's very gentle.
You don't have to press anything together.
In fact,
If they come apart,
You're still connected.
Your energy,
As you I'm sure well know,
Goes beyond where the skin ends the body.
The energy of who we really,
Really are goes beyond that.
Have your arms placed in a way that is comfortable for you.
That is mostly going to depend on the length of your arms and the bulk of your body and that's about it.
So and also I think flexibility.
So sometimes people are very open.
Arms are out at their sides.
Sometimes they're in hands and laps.
Sometimes it's elbows in,
Elbows out.
It's whatever works for your body and that's perfect because it is in fact for you.
Okay and feet.
If you can,
Put the soles of your feet together or at least somewhat in that direction.
And it doesn't matter if you are lying down,
Sitting down.
Either way,
I do recommend getting some pillows underneath your thighs so that you're not working on your thighs having to stretch out more and more and more unless you happen to be somebody who's already quite flexible in which case your legs will flop and you'll be fine.
But most people you need to have a little bit of support.
This is definitely not meant for you to withstand how long you can be in this position.
It is not meant for you to stretch your body.
That's a different exercise.
If you wear glasses,
Take them off.
Remember to include and include and include.
Dogs bark,
Phones ring,
Wind blows,
Neighbors hammer,
Stomachs growl.
Things happen.
You have the ability to include everything as it happens and actually make use of it to take you deeper into your meditation.
Thoughts happen.
If there is a thought that catches your attention,
Just include it,
Maybe even acknowledge it and thank it,
And move on.
Allow it to move you deeper and deeper as you go deeper and deeper,
Exploring broader,
Deeper,
And higher regions of consciousness for you.
Eyes closed if they're not already,
And breathe in omnidirectionally,
Literally from everywhere,
On top of you,
Underneath of you,
In front of you,
Behind you,
Through your sides,
Holding your breath,
Breathing in through your armpits and the creases,
Where your thighs meet your torso,
Between your toes,
Through your belly button,
And breathe out omnidirectionally,
Breath going out every which way,
Sometimes out through the same path,
Sometimes out through a different path,
Perhaps a curve or a bend or a sharp angle through you,
Just breathing in from everywhere,
Breathing out to everywhere.
It sometimes feels like the gentlest of starbursts,
Starburst of air and light,
But without explosion.
Now as you breathe in from everywhere,
Combine the everywares and the all-direction with pure white light,
So that you are breathing in pure white light from everywhere through every single bit of you,
Through all of your roundnesses,
Crevices,
Creases,
Nooks and crannies,
Indentations.
Hold that breath,
Pure white light,
Filling the entirety of you,
Locating anything at all that is not of the light,
Surround whatever that is in the light,
Sniff in just a wee bit more light air,
And now just let all of that go every which way.
You may find if you are meditating with somebody that they start snoring.
Include that.
You may find that you are snoring.
Include that.
And again,
Breathing pure white light in from everywhere,
Filling the entirety of your being down to the smallest particle,
Both that which is identified like a lepton and smaller than that,
Smaller than we've been able yet to identify.
Infinity of smallnesses,
Just like there's infinity of grandnesses.
Locate any last vestiges of anything of you that is not of the light.
Gently cradle whatever that is in pure white light.
Sniff in just a wee bit more pure white light from everywhere,
And exhale,
Letting it all go out every which way,
Knowing to the core of who you are or trusting to the core of who you are,
That the earth itself and the Sun have ultimate power to recycle energy,
Taking whatever it is that you have released and transmuting it to anything that you design.
Healing the planet,
Feeding the hungry,
Saving the rainforest,
Protecting the whales,
Whatever way your mind goes.
This time.
This time could be like others or something brand spanking new.
And one more time,
Breathing pure white light in from absolutely every direction into the all of you,
Filling every component of you mentally,
Emotionally,
Physically,
Spiritually,
Ethereally,
As a state of wonder completely filled,
Vibrating as pure white light.
Locate any morsel of anything anywhere,
Identifiable or not,
That is not of that pure white light.
Gently allow that to nestle inside the pure white light in you.
Sniff in just a little bit more pure white light from everywhere.
Hold that,
Hold that,
And let it all go,
Going out dispersed in all directions.
And now just breathe.
Allow yourself to breathe gently omnidirectionally in and out,
Out and in.
Pure white light breathed in,
Pure white light breathed out.
And as you breathe pure white light in and out and recognize the circle that breathing is,
There is no beginning,
There is no end,
There is no top to the breath,
There is no bottom to the breath.
Breath comes in from everywhere,
Goes out to everywhere.
You're just simply breathing in and breathing out,
Breathing out and breathing in.
Pure white light in,
Pure white light out,
Pure white light out,
Pure white light in.
And as you breathe pure white light in and out,
Out and in,
And out again.
Now surround the whole of yourself with pure white light.
Cover every nook,
Every cranny,
Every crevice,
All of your curves in and out,
All of your roundnesses,
Every follicle of hair,
Every single snidgen of you filled with and surrounded by pure white light.
Who you are is a being of pure white light,
Both within and without and everything in between.
Locate in your consciousness,
In the privacy of you,
In deep-seated genuineness and authenticity.
Where are you not patient with you?
Where are you maybe a little more demanding of you than you really need to be?
Where are you a little bit more driven?
Where are you a little not okay with you being a particular way,
In a way that you sound,
In a way that you do,
In a way that you think?
Where are you wishing that you were another way?
Where are you perhaps less patient with how you're not ambitious enough?
Where do you live inside of you,
Knowing or believing that you know the right way to do things or the right way to be or the right integrity or morality to have?
Where in your life,
When you get down to just how it is,
Do you know that you could have a little bit more room for you,
A little bit more patience for you,
A little bit more graciousness for you?
Where could you provide you with more space and more grace?
Where in your life do you wish you were just built a different way,
Had a different piece of your personality?
Just keep looking.
Extend that to where are you impatient in your life?
Who is somebody near and dear to you that you wish were just a different way and this part of who they are or that part of who they are?
Where is there somebody who may not be directly related to you but is somehow or another in the life of someone you love,
Someone who is dear to you,
Where you know that you wish that person were a different way and would give your beloved family member or friend or co-worker more room?
You wish they were different with the person you love.
Where is there somebody who is a public figure or who has been in the news even if they're not typically a public figure,
That you wish were some other way,
Made different decisions,
Did life differently?
Who is that in your world?
And with all of that identified,
I'm going to count you down briefly and take you to a different level.
Simply bring into your consciousness the number nine and just feel yourself going deeper and deeper eight,
Deeper seven,
Deeper six,
Deeper and deeper five,
Deeper Five.
Deeper.
Four.
Deeper.
Three.
Deeper.
And deeper.
Two.
Deeper.
One.
Deeper.
And deeper.
Locate in your consciousness someone you've heard about who has done something or said something or been some way that has not been okay with you.
And grant that person being.
It could be a public figure like a politician or a clergy person or a community leader.
Could be the head of a nonprofit organization or somebody volunteering there.
But not somebody you know personally,
Just a person you know about.
Could be somebody who's been in the news,
Who has done something you consider to be absolutely not okay or point blank reprehensible.
And recognize no matter how good or bad,
Whatever it is they have said or done is,
That that person is a work in progress.
That they are where they are in their process,
In their own involvement,
In their own learning.
And that where they are in their process is perfect for them.
Grant them patience as they learn,
As they grow,
Even when it seems that they're not.
Simply grant them love.
And now bring into your consciousness someone you know about who is directly impacted,
Somebody you care deeply about or care about.
Someone you do not directly know,
But you do know of.
Who has somehow in what they have done or said or been had an impact that you don't like on someone who is dear to you.
And take a moment now to recognize that that person or those people,
That that person is a work in progress.
They are where they are in their process.
And whether you condemn or simply hold at arm's length,
Whatever it is that they have done or been or said,
That they are on their own learning curve in their journey.
And where they are in their process is perfect for them,
Even if you wish they were somewhere else.
Grant them patience.
Grant them grace.
Offer your graciousness for them being where they are with compassion and sometimes understanding.
Simply grant them love.
And now bring your focus to someone whom you know directly.
Could be a family member,
A friend,
Partner,
A co-worker,
Just somebody you know,
Someone in your world.
Bringing to mind something they have done or been or said,
Some way that you believe they are.
It's just really not okay with you.
Putting all enlightenment aside,
Some trait they have that's not okay with you.
And recognize and acknowledge that person or people,
That person is a work in progress.
They are where they are in their process.
They are in their journey learning what they are learning.
And that no matter what your opinions,
No matter how off something can be,
In that moment still they're doing the best they can do,
Just them.
Grant them the grace to grow.
Grant them the gracious space to trip and fall and learn in their own way,
At their own pace along their own journey.
Provide for them the patience that compassion can provide.
Give them love,
Just exactly as they are.
Knowing that for them,
Where they are in their process is perfect for them.
And now bring into your consciousness,
You.
Identify in you ways that you are,
Things you have done,
Things you have said,
Ways of thinking you might have,
Old patterns you wish were a different way.
And recognize and acknowledge that you are a work in progress.
You are where you are in your process.
Knowing in the gentle heart that you are,
That you really have been just doing the best you could do.
And while there may always be more to learn,
More to grow,
More to be,
Possibly more and possibly less to do,
That where you are in your process is a place that you can provide with patience for yourself and do that.
Granting yourself the grace to be you in this moment.
To have whatever greatnesses you have and whatever failings you have.
To have breathing room for places where you have your own quirks.
Provide space for that uniqueness of you.
To be where you are on your journey.
Allowing yourself that much room to simply be as you are.
Putting love in with your own self and a tenderness that provides a patience and a grace and a graciousness for you to be where you are on your journey.
That where you are in your process is perfect.
Breathe all that in.
Breathe all that out.
Breathe all of that in again.
Breathe all of that out one more time.
A deep breath in,
A deep breath out and counting up.
When I say the number nine,
Allow yourself to be present in your body in the room that you are in or outside if you're out there.
One,
Two,
Three.
Feel your conscious mind arising.
Four,
Five,
Six.
Begin to feel yourself in your body.
Where and how you are sitting.
The air around you.
Seven,
Eight,
Nine.
Gently open your eyes and allow yourself to be present in your body in the room that you are in.
