
Loneliness Meditation

Loneliness can come from failing to appreciate all you have in common with others. We do not let our loneliness define us. Let us learn to appreciate and you can create that appreciation of everyone, including yourself, any time you wish.
Transcript
Okay,
Close your eyes,
Get nice cushy comfy.
Remember as you're getting yourself comfortable to make sure all parts of your body are completely cushioned.
That it doesn't take any work to take care of any part of your body.
Let everything really just fall into whatever you're doing,
The surfaces of where you are.
If you're in a chair,
Let it fall into the chair.
If you are it being your body,
Let your body fall into the chair.
If you are lying down on a bed or a floor,
Make sure you have the pillows under you wherever you need to be supported.
That would be for both sitting down or lying down.
Under your knees or ankles,
Hips,
Back,
Shoulders,
Arms,
Whatever you need.
If your feet are flat,
Either lying down or sitting up,
Let your knees pull your feet apart a little bit,
Let your knees drop in.
So you don't have to work to keep your legs up.
If you wear glasses,
Take those glasses off.
And remember to include.
Include,
Include,
Include,
Include.
Dogs will bark,
Somebody will go clunk in the next room with something on a counter.
Just let yourself include whatever comes your way.
Allowing whatever it is to be included in your meditation and to actually help take you deeper into your meditation.
So now just breathe consciously.
Be aware that you are breathing.
Slow down your breath.
Slow it down more.
Allowing yourself to breathe fully into the bottom of your lungs first and fill out the sides and back of your lungs.
You might find yourself yawning.
Your body is just so happy to get some air into it.
It says,
I give me more.
Slow down your breath just a little bit more.
Now consciously fill your whole body with pure white light.
From the very tippy top of your head all the way out to the tips of your hair,
If you have hair.
All the way down to the tips of your fingers and fingernails.
All the way down to the tips of your toes.
Filling everything in between with pure white light.
As you breathe in and as you breathe out.
Everything filled with pure white light.
Now surround the whole of yourself with pure white light.
Cover every morsel of you.
All of your roundnesses.
All of your indentations.
All of your creases,
Nooks and crannies.
Everything filled with pure white light.
Breath is a circle.
There is no beginning.
There is no end.
There is no top to the breath.
There is no bottom to the breath.
It just goes around and around and around and around.
Breathing pure white light in,
Breathing pure white light out,
Breathing pure white light out,
Breathing pure white light in.
Who you are is a being of pure white light.
Both within and without.
And everything in between.
And now bring into your consciousness the number nine.
And just feel yourself going deeper and deeper.
Eight.
Deeper.
Seven.
Deeper.
Six.
Deeper and deeper.
Five.
Deeper.
Four.
Deeper.
Three.
Deeper and deeper.
Two.
Deeper.
One.
Deeper.
And deeper.
Allow a sense of yourself to come into your awareness.
A consciousness that you are.
And just let yourself feel you.
All aspects of you,
Physically,
Emotionally,
Mentally,
Ethereally,
In wonder,
In joy,
In awe.
Notice that there are things about you that you love and you don't love.
And just put love into you.
In all of your humanness.
In all of your beingness.
Love you as you are.
And now in your consciousness bring in someone you know and absolutely love.
Could be anybody,
Husband,
Wife,
Partner,
Child,
Parent,
Sibling,
Friend,
Co-worker,
Public figure,
Somebody you just love.
Bring them into your consciousness.
All of them,
Whoever they are.
Mentally,
Emotionally,
Physically.
Spiritually,
Ethereally,
In wonder,
In joy,
In awe.
There are things about that person you love and things about that person you put up with you don't love so much.
And just pour love into that person.
Sending them love exactly the way they are.
In all of their humanness.
All of the good stuff and all of the not so good stuff.
Pour love into that person.
From you to them.
And notice as you do that how that does not take any love from you and in fact the love in you grows.
You feel more love.
And now bring into your consciousness someone you are only acquainted with,
Barely acquainted.
And notice how easy it is to find things about that person that you think are wonderful,
You love that about them.
And things you are not so sure about or you might not love quite so much.
And in your rational mind you would say,
Well I don't know them well enough.
But in reality you already have those reactions anyway.
Just let yourself be conscious of it,
It's okay.
Allow that person with whom you are just acquainted to be in your awareness physically,
Mentally,
Emotionally,
Spiritually,
Ethereally,
In wonder,
In joy,
In awe.
And now just send love to that person.
All of the good stuff,
All of the not so good stuff.
Just send love to that person.
Love them fully and entirely,
All of their upsides and all of their not quite so upsides.
Exactly as they are in all of their humanness.
Just love them.
And now bring into your consciousness some sense of or a form of or just a knowing of,
A person you don't even know.
It could be somebody from town,
It could be a name that you have of somebody but you don't know them.
It could be somebody half way around the globe,
Wherever you are located in the globe.
Just allow yourself to let in a random person whom you do not know.
And recognize that person has things that you are going to love about them and things that you might not love quite so much.
And with all of their humanness,
Just send them love.
Send that random person love.
As you can.
And recognize how connected you are with this random person and that as you are loving them,
You do not have less love,
You actually have more.
And allow that love to rebound in you,
Growing in you even more.
Recognizing that as you send love out,
The love within you increases.
Put love in where love is.
Put love in where love is missing.
Have you got anything better to do?
And as you do that,
Notice how connected you feel.
I'm going to count up from one to nine.
As I do,
Allow your consciousness to rise from level to level with the numbers.
When I say the number nine,
Gently open your eyes and allow yourself to be present in your body in the room that you are in.
One,
Two,
Three,
Feel your conscious mind rising.
Four,
Five,
Six,
Begin to feel yourself in your body,
Where and how you are sitting or lying down,
The air inside of you,
The air around you.
Take a moment to feel what you feel.
Seven,
Eight,
Nine,
Gently open your eyes and let yourself be present here and now.
