In a world of constant noise and motion, how do we access the quiet within? In this 90-second meditation, Kerith shares a teaching from The Yehudi Hakadosh of Przysucha, inviting us into the sacred space of inner stillness. The Yehudi Hakadosh taught that true connection to the Divine often begins in silence, not the absence of sound, but the presence of soul. As we move through the Counting of the Omer, we are called not only to act, but to pause, listen, and be fully present. This brief meditation offers a gentle pause to center yourself, quiet the mind, and awaken to the still, sacred voice within.

The Yehudi HaKadosh of Prezucha teaches,

We should have some control over our mouth,

So that we not speak over much.

This is implicit in the teaching in the Talmud.

If he found it locked,

He knew there was someone there.

If it was open,

He knew there was no one there.

That is,

Someone whose mouth is closed,

Who is careful in their speech,

And keeps their tongue.

This is the sign of someone of superior qualities.

Rest your eyes,

Relaxing body and breath.

Breathe in with quietude.

Breathe out with gentle ease of stillness.

Invite a sense of Dhimmamah,

Inner stillness,

Into the breath,

The body,

The mind.

And with each breath,

Asking,

Does this moment ask for speech?

With each exhale,

Answering the self with the quiet sound of the breath.
