Guidance and mindfulness for self-love. Initially recorded for children & adolescents, many adults have also enjoyed offering kindness, love, and support to their inner child. Often times we are our toughest critics, speaking unkind words and unable to forgive our own imperfections. When we do this practice regularly, over time we deepen self-acceptance, self-awareness, and compassion while attending to our self-esteem and creating space for peace and clarity.

As you find yourself a comfortable position,

Just gently close your eyes,

Or perhaps softly gaze with your eyelids lowered to a spot just in front of you.

Remain in a posture that is relaxed and comfortable.

You may choose to sit or lie down and taking a few deep breaths so as to bring yourself and center yourself into this space at this moment.

As far as you can,

Just follow this meditation as I speak these words and just spend these few minutes connecting with yourself and enjoying a special journey just with you.

So with your eyes closed or gently gazing downwards,

Bring up a picture of you and your mind.

Can you see you?

Perhaps you might want to smile a little.

Are you smiling back?

Taking a deep breath in and gently breathing out.

You may imagine in your mind's eye lifting one finger in front of you or you might want to lift a finger now.

Quietly with this finger draw a big round circle around this picture of you.

Notice that you are right in its center.

Take your time,

Look around you and make sure your entire body is inside this circle.

As you take a deep breath in and gently breathing out,

Notice that within this circle you feel loved,

Safe and relaxed.

If you could fill this circle with a color,

A feeling,

Some sparkles,

What would you choose to fill it with?

You can do that now.

You can do that now.

Wow,

It's beautiful.

Taking a deep breath in and a gentle out breath,

Take your time and experience this moment,

This circle of love.

Now imagine drawing a circle of love around other things.

Perhaps drawing a circle around your family,

A friend,

Your favorite toy.

Perhaps you can put your home in that circle or your school or even our entire planet.

This circle of love and protection lets in positive experiences and protects you from any negative or bad feelings.

At any time you need,

You can draw this circle around yourself and stay with this feeling for as long as you like.

As you slowly say these words to yourself,

I am,

I am.

When you're ready,

Gently taking a few deep breaths,

Wiggle your fingers and your toes as you bring yourself back into this present moment.

And if you've had your eyes closed,

You can gently open your eyes.

Thank yourself for having spent these five minutes reminding yourself of this circle of love and protection and that you are loved.
