Transcript

The following meditation is a potent and balancing standing meditation known as the five-element yin massage.

The five yin organs are the liver,

Heart,

Spleen,

Lungs,

And kidneys.

Our well-being is predicated on these five organs being in balance as they store pure vital substances,

Energies that the body requires to function and be healthy.

Throughout this meditation,

The focus will be on the organ being massaged,

Breathing in the healing color of the organ,

Associating the organ with its element,

Direction,

Season,

Emotions,

And its sound,

And gathering saliva in the mouth and swallowing it down to the lower abdomen.

When massaging,

Work with both hands in a circular fashion,

Palms facing inward.

Close the eyes if possible,

And if not,

Direct your eyes to one point forward and down for the duration.

Find a comfortable stance about hip-width apart.

Soften the knees.

Relax the shoulders.

Allow the breath to be natural and deep,

Not forced.

Begin on the right side with the liver.

Gently start to massage the liver,

Breathing in the healing color of green,

The wood element,

The direction of east,

And the season of spring.

Breathe in kindness and let go of anger and frustration.

Softly utter the sound of shoo,

Shoo,

Shoo,

Shoo.

The direction of center,

And the season of late summer.
