Hello everyone.

Today we delve into diaphragmatic breathing,

A fundamental technique to quickly reduce stress.

So to get started,

Find yourself in a comfortable position,

Lying down or seated,

And place one hand on your belly to feel the rise and fall of your diaphragm as you breathe.

Focus on allowing your belly to expand outward as you inhale,

Pushing up against your hand,

And feel it fall gently as you exhale.

This type of breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system,

Which signals your body to rest and relax.

And we can never get enough practice at this and the mind-body connection that comes from it.

So let's practice this together for a relaxation.

Notice that going deeper with breathwork doesn't mean that it has to be harder,

You don't have to exert yourself more,

You just need to fall into a meditative rhythm.

Let your body get into a groove where the mind can actually quiet.

This is actually a form of moving meditation that the yogis refer to as pranayama.

And as you breathe,

Notice the immediate effects of this breathing technique on your body and mind.

A sense of calm,

Reduction in heart rate,

Loosening of the tension,

And whatever may be in your mind of things that you may have to do,

Things that you think you have to do.

I invite you to just drop those for a moment and really dive into this moment and this practice with your body.

Anything that's waiting for you will still be there once we're done,

But you'll be able to approach it with a much more calm state of mind and be empowered in your decision making.

Incorporate this technique into your daily routine,

Especially during moments of stress to help you return to a state of peace.

Great job today.

And as we conclude,

Reflect on how this practice can fit into your daily life to manage stress effectively.

Truth be told,

You're just a few breaths away from being back into an empowered state.

Thank you so much for breathing with me today and congratulations on now mastering the diaphragmatic breathing technique.

This tool is a skill that you'll be able to carry with you to enhance awareness of physiological changes in your body and return back to a state of empowerment for clearer decision making and managing daily stress.
