Welcome to this affirmation practice.

As we begin,

Go ahead and take just a few moments to find whatever position feels right and comfortable in your body.

Take your time.

Tension,

Soften,

Be finding the breath if that feels soothing for you.

Just adjusting your body,

Settling in.

I'm going to go ahead with several affirmations that are intended to soothe and soften.

And as we practice together today,

I invite you to be with the experience,

To notice what's happening in the body.

Let yourself slow down.

And as we move through the affirmations,

Pay attention to any sensations that are and if you find that they're pleasant or neutral,

Your attention rests with it.

Likewise,

If you notice anything coming up that's unpleasant or uncomfortable,

Know that you are supported.

Gently as you can,

See if you can shift back to a place that feels more pleasant or offering all of your feelings sweet,

Tender care.

Softening into the experience just as it is.

Let's begin.

Love the person I am.

Person I am.

I don't have to be perfect or even near perfect to be worthy of love.

I get to decide how I show up and be in the world.

Release all the limits and step out of the boxes that have stifled,

Confined me.

I'm safe from inner and outer harm.

I care for my experiences and feelings with tenderness and compassion.

I support my stability,

Growth.

It is okay and it is right for me to care for my experiences and feelings,

Tenderness and compassion.

I give myself permission to be tender with and kind to myself.

I need and I deserve my own supportive care.

It's okay for me to give that to myself.

Yes,

I can love who I am now.

Even as I love who I am,

Capable and worthy,

Even as my evolving,

Growing,

Shifting,

Changing,

Impermanent self.

Wherever I am,

I know how to care for all of my feelings.

Even the ones that are sometimes uncomfortable.

Recognize and so,

So tenderly respond to sensations in my body that signal anxiety or distress.

Available to care for myself and I'm growing more confident in my ability to show up for myself and care for myself.

I know how to care for my feelings.

Feelings or fear them.

Feelings rise and fall.

My experience of being in my body,

I'm going to experience ebbs and flows and that's okay.

I can change.

And I know that everything that arises is also of the nature to shift and change and fall away.

No feeling is fine as feelings arise,

I stay present.

Passion and my gentleness and my kindness and I'm getting better at being available to myself.

At being available to myself.

And I'm getting better at being responsive to myself and to my feelings.

I give myself permission to slow down and to be supportive to myself,

To take each moment as it comes.

I release all expectations about things should be.

I face things as they are.

With clarity,

With wisdom,

With some courage.

Because I know everything I need to meet this moment.

I can trust myself to get through this.

Choosing the next best step is getting easier for me.

Trust my own wisdom.

Know that I can rely on that wisdom and strength.

Revel in the sweet simplicity of ordinary everyday moments.

No simple joys.

Joy is available to me.

Attitude shapes my experience.

Let myself also pay attention to what is going right and well in my life.

I do know that joy is available to me.

And I can recognize what is also true even in the midst of difficulties.

I remind myself that I am always enough,

Do enough.

Take a moment now to notice how these affirmations are landing in your mind.

Notice any sensations that are arising.

Noticing too what it's like to be in your body at this moment.

The sense of being supported just with so many other people sharing this community,

On this path together.

We all remember that we are not alone.

All support that we really do indeed deserve and need are all.

Continue to show up for yourself daily.

Thank you so much for your practice.

May you be well.

Barbara has such a calm and soothing voice. Beautiful affirmations to remind oneself of the love & strength we all have within, and to give ourselves permission to choose ourselves & be compassionate and kind to yourself, just as we are to others. Remembering to listen to our body in how we feel & also with our intuition. Affirmations to remind oneself of the love & strength we all have within, and to give ourselves permission to choose ourselves & be compassionate and kind to yourself, just as we are to others. 🫢🏼🀍

I’m so thankful to Barbara and this community. I’ve been so isolated and ptsd numb from years of abuse. It helps to know that I am safe now. I am supported here. I’m not alone. Thank you so much πŸ’“

Exactly the support and encouragement I didn't know I needed today. The warmth and support conveyed in your voice is a gentle summer breeze to me on this cold, dark night; where the shadows easily play. My most humble grattitude, Thank you!πŸ™ May you have peace! May you be well!

Good morning Barbara I wish you God's peace. August is my month of Sabbath. I am glad to have found this new meditation. You have become a stable in my life. In my meditation. In a few days I will be celebrating 37 years of sobriety. One day at a time through the grace of my higher power. I am also a 9/11 survivor. I go Inward during the month of August and September. Please keep me in your prayers. I wish you great success in seminary. May your higher power bless you always
