This gentle meridian tapping meditation helps relieve severe neck pain by clearing energetic blockages in your Qi and circulation. We will tap along the gallbladder, bladder, kidney, and liver meridians, releasing tension and promoting blood flow from head to tailbone. The practice finishes with a visualization meditation to open the spinal pathway and support emotional release. Even a small easing of pain or a positive shift in mood is meaningful. Repeat up to twice daily.

Welcome,

I'm Dr.

Kim.

I help you heal chronic pain using holistic methods.

This is a gentle meridian tapping practice designed for those people experiencing severe neck pain,

The sort of sharp debilitating pain that is too severe to get in and out of bed comfortably or do any neck movements or exercises.

In traditional Chinese medicine,

Neck pain is not just a physical problem,

It's an energetic one that signals a blockage of qi or energy and circulation in the neck region.

Think of your neck being a kink in the hose.

By tapping through the gallbladder,

Bladder,

Kidney and liver meridians,

We gently open the flow of qi and blood through the neck and spine.

We'll finish with a short meditation visualizing the spinal pathway clearing from the head to the root.

After the practice,

Wait for half an hour for your body to process the changes,

Then check in with your neck.

Expect a small easing of pain and a positive change in your emotional state.

Even a 5 to 10% shift is meaningful.

Repeat this practice no more than twice a day.

Once your neck has freed up enough to move without pain,

You need to move on to some simple neck movement practices.

Find a space where you can sit down with your legs in front of you,

Knees bent,

Feet on the ground.

Use the floor,

A recliner or your bed.

Dim the lights and let's begin.

Place your hands over your painful neck.

Take a deep breath in and let it all the way out.

Send love and warm energy to your neck.

Let it know that it's going to be okay.

Using your right hand,

Start at your left temple.

With relaxed fingers,

Tap the side of your head.

Your pressure should be gentle yet firm,

Enough to make a sound on your skin.

Slowly start to tap down the side of your head and neck,

Letting your breath flow out smoothly with each tap.

Continue down across the top of your shoulder,

Your outer arm,

Down the forearm,

Into your hands.

Now tap over your outer ribs on your left side,

All the way down to your hip.

Switch hands.

Use your left hand to continue tapping down your outer thighs,

Outer calf,

All the way to the outside of your feet.

Bring your left hand up to your right temple and start the process on the other side.

Tap all the way down your head and neck,

Shoulder,

Outer arm to hand,

Right ribs down to your hip.

Switch to your right hand and continue tapping down your outer thigh to the ankle.

Deep breaths and repeat twice more on each side,

Tapping all the way down the sides of your body,

From your head to your arm and hand,

From the ribs to the hip and from the hip all the way down the outer leg into the outer ankle.

And now cover your right side,

Starting with your left hand.

Continue tapping in this sequence.

Deep breaths.

Allow yourself to smile,

Knowing you're doing something good for your body.

Last round of tapping.

Using the right hand,

Start tapping down through the left head,

Through to the hand,

From the ribs all the way down to the feet.

And using your left hand to tap through the side of your right head.

Cover the complete side of your body.

This clears tension from the gallbladder channel,

Helping your neck to turn more freely.

Let's begin tapping through the bladder meridian.

Bring both hands to the very top of your head.

Begin tapping through your crown,

Moving down the back of your head through to the back of your neck.

Continue tapping down your spine as far as you can reach,

Then reach behind you and tap down your lower back.

Now tap down the back of your thighs all the way down your hamstring.

And all the way down your calves to your ankles.

Repeat again,

Starting from the crown of your head,

Running down the back of your head,

Neck,

Mid-back,

Switching to the lower back,

Running down the hamstrings and calves.

And one last time,

Activating the meridian that runs from the top of your head down the entire back of your body all the way to your heels.

This lightens the heaviness of your head and clears the pathway that connects to the kidney.

Relax your hands,

Let your knees fall out to the sides,

Forming a diamond shape with your legs.

Start tapping the soles of your feet.

Gently tapping the bottoms of your feet wakes up the kidney and liver points.

Continue tapping up through your inner ankles,

Inner calves,

Inner thighs up to your lower abdomen,

Finishing over your lower ribcage.

Spend some time tapping here on the ribcage as you breathe deep into your belly.

This is the liver channel.

Release any frustration,

Anger,

Resentment,

Any stuck energy that can lock up into the neck.

And repeat twice more,

Starting from the soles of your feet through the inner legs,

Moving up your torso,

Finishing at your lower ribcage.

Allow your body to feel grounded and supported as you release these emotions.

One more time,

From the soles of your feet all the way up your inner legs.

Up the torso,

Finishing tapping over your lower ribcage.

Strengthen your root energy so your neck doesn't have to carry the entire burden.

Now rub your palms together.

Allow the warm and moistness to form in between your palms.

Deep breaths here.

Cultivate your chi in your hands.

Now place both hands over your liver,

Right over your lower ribcage on the right side.

Feel the warmth of your hands penetrate through to your skin.

Take a deep breath in,

And as you breathe out,

Make a soft shhh sound.

This is the liver healing sound,

Which allows your body to further let go of any tension or frustration.

Repeat this breath,

Inhaling,

Making a shhh sound as you exhale.

Picture the frustration,

Anger,

Resentment and tension leaving your body through this sound.

And last breath.

Place your hands on your lower belly.

Close your eyes if they're not closed already.

Visualize a clear,

Open pathway from the top of your head,

Down through your neck,

Your spine,

All the way through to your tailbone.

Imagine light flowing freely,

Unblocked,

Unkinked,

Nourishing every part of your spine.

See this light pass freely and easily through your neck,

The gateway between your head and your torso.

Feel your spine lengthen.

See this clear and wide channel of energy from the top of your head all the way down to your tailbone.

When you're ready,

Open your eyes slowly.

Your practice is complete.

Move very gently for the next 30 minutes.

You have awakened energy and blood circulation and this takes time for the body to process.

Refrain from testing out your neck with movements and stretches.

I know it's tempting,

But this can cause a lot of damage.

Watch your body change over the next hour.

A lightness in mood,

A shift in perspective and a feeling of ease and more movement in your neck.

Only then come back to make an honest review of this track.
