Today,
I want to talk about the fear of success.
It's an interesting fear because on the surface,
We all want to succeed.
We all want to reach our goals,
Fulfill our purpose and make an impact.
And yet,
When success starts knocking at the door,
Sometimes we hesitate to open it.
Why is that?
Why do we feel resistance even when everything we've worked for is unfolding before us?
So I really felt this today.
A client emailed me sharing his story.
His name is Kevin.
He's 64 years old and an avid martial arts practitioner.
He injured himself in August 2024 doing some roundhouse kicks and felt his back tighten up.
The next morning,
He couldn't move.
The pain was so excruciating.
He could hardly breathe.
He couldn't bend to get into the car.
He saw a chiropractor friend for a few sessions and got an MRI which showed a herniated disc at L4.
He then did physical therapy for the next four months.
He improved but only enough to allow him to walk with a cane.
Then he had a steroid injection which gave him relief for a week before his pain levels returned to an 8 out of 10.
He could only take a few steps bent over without using his cane.
Then he found me online.
He did my program and did the prescribed 15 minutes of easy movements every single day.
On the fourth day,
He reported that he was able to walk 100 feet without a cane.
And on the fifth day,
He was able to mow the lawn.
Just like that,
He had stepped into a completely new timeline.
When I saw this email,
I was ecstatic.
I was overjoyed to know I had made a difference in Kevin's life.
I then started to imagine my work being known all over the world.
Back pain is the world's leading disability,
Affecting 619 million people.
And I imagined all of them being healed with my program.
But then almost immediately,
The doubt crept in.
And that's all it took for the little voices inside my head to start.
The healthcare industry is going to hate me.
They're all going to call me a pseudoscientist.
PTs,
Chiropractors,
And all other therapists will despise me because their clients will heal on their own.
Surgeons will discredit me because instead of making $20,
000 per surgery,
People will heal with my program for a fraction of the cost.
You should just make attractive hot girl content on the internet instead.
You'll make more money and get less hate.
These thoughts felt so real in the moment.
My chest got so tight and anxiety started to grasp me.
I spent the morning in slight panic and disarray,
Questioning my decision to start this business.
But when I took a step back,
I realized something profound.
Every single one of these invasive thoughts was just my mind trying to keep me safe.
A survival mechanism.
My ego's way of urging me to take the path of least resistance,
Where there is no risk,
No exposure,
No potential for attack.
But here's the truth.
These thoughts were completely irrational.
They weren't based in reality at all.
They were simply fear manifesting as self-doubt,
Trying to pull me back into the familiar where it's comfortable and predictable.
Now,
What a very 3D and human thing to experience.
My mind was clinging to outdated programming,
As if playing small is the only way to survive.
But then I thought,
Even if all of these fears came true,
If people hated me,
If I was ridiculed,
So what?
Would that actually change the fact that people are healing?
Would that make my work any less meaningful?
No.
Because for whatever reason,
This is my calling.
This is my purpose.
And I'm not about to let fear dictate my path.
So what do you do when fear of success grips you?
Number one,
You regulate your nervous system.
You get yourself out of survival mode and into a safe and relaxed state where your mind is clear.
When we return to the present,
We can see the fear for what it is,
An illusion.
I personally use my own somatic exercises to do this.
You can check out my courses and somatic movement tracks on Insight Timer.
You can also do things like breath work,
Cold plunges,
Journaling,
Meditation,
Whatever works for your body.
After your nervous system feels safe,
Focus on the truth,
Not the made-up scenarios in your head.
For me,
It is the fact that my work has helped 100% of the people who come into contact with it.
Not a single person has walked away without any change.
That is the true reality.
That's what I choose to focus on.
So I went back and looked over all of the old texts from my clients and re-celebrated their wins.
After this,
I felt completely different.
Your desire must be greater than your fear.
If you are feeling this in your own life,
If success is knocking and fear is making you hesitate,
Remember this.
Your desire to help the world,
To fulfill your purpose,
Must be greater than your fears.
Because fear will always be there.
It will whisper doubts,
Weave stories,
Create worst-case scenarios,
But none of that is real.
What's real is your impact,
The lives you touch,
The healing you bring.
Step forward,
Answer the call,
Open the door.
Success is not the enemy.
And you are greater than your fear.
Thank you for being here with me today.
May you all move through your fears with courage and trust.
Lots of love and see you tomorrow.
