Hi,

I'm Dr.

Kim.

Today we're diving into one of the most transformative aspects of your wellness,

Nourishment.

Let's face it,

Nutrition advice can be overwhelming with conflicting information leaving you unsure of what foods are good and bad for you.

But don't worry,

Today we're simplifying everything.

I'll cover the foundational principles of eating for energy,

Glowing skin and gut health.

By the end of this lesson you'll feel empowered to make food choices that truly serve your mind and body.

As always,

Please consult with a healthcare practitioner if you are unsure of making any new changes.

Grab your notebook and let's get started.

Back to basics.

Eat like the cavemen.

When in doubt,

Go back to basics and eat like a caveman.

Eat foods the way nature intended,

Whole,

Fresh and minimally processed.

Visualise the vibrant greens of leafy vegetables,

The earthy tones of root veggies,

The rich colours of fresh fruits and the wholesome goodness of proteins like eggs,

Meat or fish.

These are the building blocks of radiant health.

On the flip side,

Stay clear of highly processed packaged foods like chips and sugary cereals.

They hardly resemble anything natural.

An easy rule of thumb,

If it doesn't look like it came from nature,

It probably isn't doing you any favours.

Let's talk about protein.

Protein is not just for bodybuilders and athletes.

It's an important stabiliser for your nervous system.

That's right,

It helps to regulate stress and keeps your energy levels steady.

Include a source of protein in every meal like eggs,

Beans,

Chicken or tofu.

Snack ideas?

Try edamame beans,

Nuts or a spoonful of peanut butter.

These little tweaks can make a world of difference in how you feel throughout the day.

The very worst way you can start off your day is with a bowl of sugary cereal.

Fighting inflammation.

Chronic inflammation is a culprit behind puffiness,

Acne and even long-term illnesses.

Foods that cause inflammation are your refined carbs such as white bread,

Pasta and pastries,

Things like added sugars,

Fried foods and alcohol.

Instead,

Opt for anti-inflammatory choices like leafy greens,

Fatty fish and turmeric.

One note here is to keep an eye on fruit intake.

It's a natural sugar so it is better than processed sugar.

But again,

Let's go back to the cavemen days.

Fruit only came about once a year and you had to climb a tree and exert energy to get it.

They did not have endless access to sweet fruits like we do now,

So eat in moderation.

I personally have fruit twice a week.

And as for alcohol,

While it's fun in the moment,

It wreaks havoc on your skin,

Sleep and digestion.

Balance is key and listening to your body's signals will guide you.

That brings me to intuitive eating.

Tune into your body.

Here's a simple but powerful practice.

Ask yourself before eating,

Does this food support life?

Does it energize or drain me?

Intuitive eating isn't about rules,

It's about awareness.

Start paying attention to how your body feels after meals.

Do you feel light and energized or bloated and sluggish?

This small habit can transform your relationship with food over your lifetime.

Here's a fun activity for you to do.

This week,

Keep a food diary.

Open notes on your phone and jot down what you eat and how you feel 30 minutes after.

Look for patterns.

For example,

I discovered dairy inflames my nose,

Making it hard for me to breathe and spicy food gives me gas and stomach aches.

I feel best when I eat simple meals like chicken,

Rice and leafy greens.

The goal is never about restriction,

It's about learning what feels good for your body and then giving it more of that.

True nourishment isn't about perfection,

It's about small intentional changes that build over time.

By choosing whole foods,

Staying hydrated and listening to your body,

You'll unlock a natural energy and radiance.

Start experimenting today.

Maybe it's some extra protein with your meals or swapping out a processed snack for something natural.

I want to know,

Do you practice intuitive eating?

I have a premium track all about intuitive eating.

Please go check it out on my profile.

See you tomorrow.
