Namaste.

My name is Amanda and thank you for joining me for this yoga nidra.

Today we welcome the shortest day and the longest night of the year,

Known as the winter solstice.

A day that is said to be the most powerful day to plant new seeds for growth,

Healing,

And abundance.

On this day of renewal and rebirth,

I invite you to be extra mindful of your sankalpa or your heart's deepest desire as you plant its wisdom into your subconscious mind.

Before we begin,

Use the next few minutes to create a cozy little nook for yourself.

Turn the notifications off on your phone so you won't be interrupted.

Perhaps you'll place a hot water bottle or a heating pad on your lower stomach or feet for an added grounding effect.

You might choose to burn incense or bring in a crystal.

You might also place a covering or pillow over your eyes.

Bring in anything that will ensure that you're as warm and as comfortable as you possibly can be.

Cocoon yourself into deep comfort.

Begin to focus your attention on your breath,

Sensing the gentle flow of each inhale and each exhale.

Consider that your breath is giving your mind and body an invitation to unwind and slow down as you deepen your inhalation and lengthen your exhalation.

Each breath gently helping your mind to surrender to rest and your body to surrender to relaxation.

For this is your time to sink into the darkness of closed eyes so that you may see the light that lives within you.

It's your time to embrace the magic and the stillness of this winter solstice.

Continue to notice your breath as you feel the back of your body touching the surface beneath you.

Become aware of the outline of your body from the top of your head to the very tips of your toes and the edges of your body beginning to soften.

Each part of you sinking into deep relaxation.

All tension releasing from your scalp and forehead.

The little muscles in and around your face loosening.

Your lower jaw unclenching.

Tongue relaxing.

Neck and shoulders unwinding.

All of your back,

Chest,

Rib cage,

Stomach and pelvis surrendering to rest.

Your arms,

Hands and all ten fingers letting go.

Legs,

Feet and all ten toes also letting go.

All of your mind and body melting into stillness.

Mimicking the deep stillness of the dark night.

Invite your attention now to fall inward onto your heart.

Listen to it.

What does your heart desire?

What does your heart want to say to you?

Use this time to listen within and allow your sankalpa for this winter solstice to speak to you.

Remembering that your sankalpa is a positive and precise I am statement that comes from your heart.

If you don't have a sankalpa at this time you might use I am now surrendering to deep rest and healing wherever my body needs it.

I am now surrendering to deep rest and healing wherever my body needs it.

Repeat your sankalpa three times silently.

As your awareness is guided to different parts of your body allow yourself to further deepen the calm and stillness you're basking in.

Might you visualize in your mind's eye a tiny ball of white light that will ever so softly land on each body part,

Beginning with the tip of your tongue.

Let your attention gently fall onto your breathing.

No need to change your breathing in any way.

Just sensing breath moving in and out of your body.

On your next inhale,

Might you begin to count down from ten.

Inhale.

Ten.

Exhale.

Ten.

Inhale.

Nine.

Exhale.

Nine.

Continue counting down at your own pace.

If you lose your count,

Simply start again at ten.

Releasing that now and gently moving your attention to the stillness of your body.

Your body resting deeply.

Calm and at ease.

All attention has completely dissipated.

You are one with the stillness of the winter solstice.

With the magic that this one day of the year brings.

Use this time to embody what it feels like to live without limitations.

What would it feel like to live your life without any limiting beliefs?

To live your life without the stories that hold you back?

Could you open yourself up to feeling that?

Could you allow yourself to feel what it would be like to live a life where you have everything you dream of?

Where all your needs and desires are met with great abundance?

What does that feel like in your body?

Can you visualize what that life looks like in your mind's eye?

That's it.

Allow yourself to see and feel all of it so clearly.

As if it is your life right now.

Now all of it so tangible,

So palpable,

And real.

Every area of your life exactly how you wish for it to be.

Know that on this winter solstice,

You are right now planting seeds of intention into every part of your being.

Every cell in your body is vibrating with your desires.

Give yourself a few moments to exist in the reality you dream of.

Silently repeat your sankalpa now.

Perhaps you used the phrase,

I am now surrendering to deep rest and healing wherever my body needs it.

I am now surrendering to deep rest and healing wherever my body needs it.

Continue to repeat your sankalpa to yourself,

Knowing that each time you do,

Its intention is being planted deep within your consciousness.

Might you begin to feel your body on the surface beneath you?

To feel the air kissing your skin?

You might notice the touch of your clothes,

More the weight of the blanket that is covering your body.

Open your awareness to any scents you can smell in the air,

To any sounds other than my voice.

With your eyes remaining closed,

Visualize the room you're in,

The walls,

Ceiling,

And floor.

Visualize where you are in the room.

If you feel ready to,

You might begin to make small movements,

Movements that are gentle,

Slow,

And methodical.

Give yourself plenty of time to slowly return to your full waking state.

There's no need to rush this process.

Allow yourself to bask in the energy you've created from this practice.

Know that giving yourself this time is a gift to your mind,

Body,

And soul.

You might even pause this recording until you're fully ready to awaken.

Awaken when the time feels right,

And only when it feels right.

Gently open your eyes and expand your awareness with all of your senses.

Be slow and gentle as you return back to the busy world.

This has been Amanda,

And I thank you so very much for allowing me the honor of being your guide through this yoga nidra for the winter solstice.

It's always a pleasure for me to share these recordings with you,

And I feel especially honored that you chose this particular practice to help you embrace the potency of this special time of the year.

If you can,

Please leave a rating and a comment letting me know what part of the world you're practicing from today.

I love hearing from you.

May you be abundantly blessed with all your dreams and desires on this day and every day.

Namaste.
