Namaste.

This is Amanda and the intention for this yoga nidra is to embrace the teaching of the autumn season.

Though we often forget,

We are a part of nature.

Therefore nature's cycles are our cycles too.

Autumn is a season for reflection and letting go.

Although we tend to love staying in the season of creating and producing,

I invite you to slow down and embrace the potency of autumn.

Embrace the potency of surrendering,

Of letting go,

And releasing.

You might think of the time that you're giving to this practice as pressing the pause button from all the busyness in your life and all the doing to allow time and space for being.

Remove yourself from all the distractions of the outside world.

Give yourself as much time as you need to ensure complete comfort before we begin so that you may move through this practice with ease.

Bring in props such as a bolster or pillows,

A blanket,

Headphones for optimal listening,

An eye covering to remove unwanted light,

Perhaps a calming essential oil,

And anything else that brings you comfort.

Know that it's more than okay if you fall asleep during this practice.

Your body knows exactly what it needs.

Find the rhythm of your breath now,

Breathing in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.

Your breath moving in and out with each inhale and each exhale.

As you note your natural breathing pattern,

You might begin to alter it slightly,

Deepening the inhale and lengthening the exhale.

Expanding the ribcage with each inhale and releasing each exhale through an open,

Relaxed jaw.

Feel how good it feels to breathe in new breath and to let go of old breath.

Might you begin a countdown with each breath now,

Starting with the number ten,

Inhaling ten,

Exhaling ten,

Inhaling nine,

Exhaling nine,

Inhaling eight,

Exhaling eight.

Continuing to count down at your own pace.

Welcoming in your Sankalpa,

Your heart's desire.

If you don't have a Sankalpa that you're currently working with,

You might use,

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

Silently repeat your intention three times while its seed plants deeply within you.

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

Allow your attention to follow my voice,

Guiding you seamlessly to different parts of your body,

Beginning at the crown of your head,

The space in between the eyebrows.

Right eyebrow.

Left eyebrow.

Right ear.

Left ear.

Right cheek.

Left cheek.

Air moving in and out of your right nostril.

And air moving in and out of your left nostril.

Upper lip.

Lower lip.

Chin.

Throat.

Heart center.

Right side of the chest.

Right shoulder.

Elbow.

Wrist.

Right hand.

Thumb.

First finger.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger.

The palm in the back of the right hand.

Right waist.

Hip.

Knee.

Ankle.

Big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth and fifth toe.

The sole in the top of the right foot.

The entire right side of the body.

Back to heart center.

Left side of the chest.

Left shoulder.

Elbow.

Wrist.

Thumb of the left hand.

First finger.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger.

The palm in the back of the left hand.

Left waist.

Hip.

Knee.

Ankle.

Big toe.

Second toe.

Third toe.

Fourth and fifth toe.

The sole in the top of the left foot.

The entire left side of the body.

Both sides of the body now.

Left and right.

Right and left.

In your mind's eye,

Picture something or someone in your life that no longer serves your highest good.

Perhaps this is a habit you know it's time to release.

Maybe it's a relationship that showed its end to you long ago.

Whatever it is,

Trust that it will reveal itself to you.

Every transformation requires a releasing of the old to birth anew.

A letting go of what once was.

The butterfly can only become a butterfly once she's released the cocoon of her old self.

And to allow for full bloom,

The rose must first loosen and let go of being a bud.

Right now,

In the autumn season,

Each leaf is letting go of its attachment to the branch it's been home to.

Everything in nature is committed to the cycle.

Letting go is just another phase.

Another part of the process.

And it's part of your process too.

The only way to reach the potential of your highest self is to be willing to release the old.

Letting go of what might be hard truths.

Of what could be stale patterns.

Or familiar habits that are simply no longer serving you.

This natural process of letting go opens you to the new that has been patiently waiting for you to be ready for it.

Your life is one of limitless possibilities when you're willing to release and make room for what's next.

When you trust this process and let go,

You open yourself to new joys,

Relationships,

Abundance,

Creativity,

And opportunities you didn't know were possible.

Let it go,

Sweet one.

Give yourself permission to trust the process.

Just as the leaves are letting go and surrendering to the freedom of release,

So too can you.

Allow your attention to follow your breath.

Breathing in and breathing out.

No need to change your breathing in any way.

Just notice it.

Sense it.

Feel it.

Bring awareness to your body feeling relaxed.

Feeling heavy.

Your body dense.

The weight pressing down on the surface beneath you.

Now your body feeling light,

Relaxed,

And weightless.

Your body as light as a feather softly floating.

Feeling heavy once again.

All the weight of you gravitating towards the centre of the earth.

And now your body no longer heavy and no longer light.

Just your body as it is,

Laying peacefully on the surface beneath you.

Sense the back of your body.

The back of your head and neck.

Your shoulder blades.

Buttocks.

Backs of your legs and heels of your feet.

All of you.

Grounded,

Safe,

And secure.

Enjoy this time reserved just for you.

Nowhere else you need to be.

Nothing else you need to be doing.

Just you.

Here.

Right now.

Being.

It's time to bring back your sankalpa.

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

Silently whisper this intention three times or more.

Each accompanied by a deep breath.

I am willing to let go of that which no longer serves me.

Might you begin to count each breath now.

Starting at number one until you reach number ten.

Inhaling one.

Exhaling one.

Inhaling two.

Exhaling two.

Slowly bring your awareness back with each breath.

Inhaling three.

Exhaling three.

Sense the room around you.

Open your hearing to sounds within your space other than my voice.

Continue to count each breath at your own pace as you become more and more present.

You might choose to awaken the body by wiggling your fingers and wiggling your toes.

Perhaps softly rubbing your hands together and gently placing them on your cheeks before slowly letting them glide down your neck and off your shoulders.

When you're ready,

Ever so slowly open your eyes and bring your full awareness back to the space around you.

Be mindful of how much you bring back into your consciousness as your mind and body are still simmering in the effects of this practice.

There is no rush to resume busyness.

As you continue to move throughout your day,

May you do so with the knowing that holding on is believing that there's only a past.

Letting go is knowing that there is a future.

A quote by Daphne Rose Kingma.

Thank you so much for giving your valuable time to practicing with me.

This has been Amanda and I'm honored to have had the opportunity to share this yoga nidra for letting go with you today.

If you have a moment,

Please leave a comment and let me know if you benefited from this practice.

Your comment will help others to find this recording.

Remember that you are not separate from nature.

You are one with nature.

The beautiful cycles of mother nature are your beautiful cycles too.

Namaste.
