Hello and welcome to your floating bed.

Thank you so much for joining me.

Now this journey is going to be a little bit different because it is of course back to school time.

And going back to school can be a bit nerve-wracking,

Can't it?

Maybe you're starting a new school.

Maybe you're about to sit your 11 plus exams.

Maybe you've got a new teacher this term.

Or maybe the long summer holidays have meant you've simply fallen out of your school routine and don't want the fun and freedom to end.

Everybody can relate to those feelings.

You are not alone.

And those feelings can be difficult to deal with.

So I thought I'd create something for you to use when experiencing these challenging emotions.

And it will help you feel a little more in control.

It will make you feel safe.

It will make you feel supported.

And it will remind you once again that you have everything you need inside you.

You just need to use these exercises to tune into it.

You can do it.

So this one is a bit shorter than normal so that you can use it whenever you need it.

Come back to it again and again.

It's yours.

And this one is inspired by a request from Jocelyn in Illinois.

Thank you so much,

Jocelyn.

And oh my goodness,

My mind is blown that I am reaching lovely listeners all the way in Illinois.

How incredible.

So as always,

Guys,

Let's take a moment to get comfy and let's get ready to go.

So when you found that perfect comfy spot,

Close your eyes and get ready to use that excellent imagination I know you've all got.

Your mind is probably very fizzy right now,

Isn't it?

You've probably got a lot of thoughts whizzing around your mind.

Take a slow,

Deep breath in through your nose.

Fill your tummy with air.

And exhale,

Blowing away all of that air.

And imagine you are on a ship.

You are the captain of your ship.

And above you is a stormy sky.

And below you are choppy waters.

And they are caused by all the thoughts whizzing around your mind,

Distracting you and worrying you,

Confusing you,

Making you feel out of control.

And as your mind darts from one thought to another,

The sky fills with lightning,

And you hear a heavy clap of thunder,

And the stormy winds rock your ship,

Sweeping your ship away.

And as your mind fizzes with so many thoughts and emotions,

The stormy waves crash,

And they rock your ship,

Sending you further off course,

And you are lost,

And you cannot see clearly,

And you feel out of control.

But you remember to take a moment to be still.

Although you're in the eye of the storm,

Battling against the rough winds and the crashing waves created by all those wild thoughts in your mind,

You take a moment to just be still.

And you remind yourself to breathe,

Because taking calming breaths is your body's way of telling your mind to calm down.

So let's take a deep but gentle inhale through your nose,

Filling your tummy with air.

And as you exhale,

You imagine throwing a heavy anchor overboard,

Plunging deep through the waves,

And the anchor grounds the ship,

Keeps it in one place so the stormy winds and the crashing waves can no longer sweep your ship away.

And your ship feels stable,

And you feel safe.

So you take another deep,

Gentle inhale through your nose,

And as you exhale you blow all of the stormy clouds away.

And slowly,

As the storm clouds break,

Clear skies appear.

And you take another deep but gentle inhale,

Filling your tummy with air.

And as you exhale,

You blow all of that air towards the crashing waves.

And you watch as the rough waves begin to calm,

And the crystal clear waters hidden under the stormy waves appear.

And everything around you is calm,

And you feel safe,

And you can see clearly,

And you feel in control.

And you remind yourself that when your thoughts and emotions cause a storm in your mind,

You can use your body as an anchor by bringing your attention to your body,

And calming your breathing,

And calming your body.

You will clear away the storm in your mind.

And now that you can see clearly,

You can look out over the beautiful turquoise seas around you,

And you find a perfect desert island ahead of you.

And you swim through the calm waters to your desert island,

And you enjoy its soft,

Warm sand around your toes.

And you climb into a hammock,

Hanging between two palm trees.

And you lie out,

And you stretch out,

And you swing so gently.

And the warm sun shines down on you,

And you feel your entire body calm,

And your mind feels so calm,

And so clear.

And you whisper to yourself,

I am in control.

Now you can lie here on your hammock,

On your perfect desert island,

As long as you like.

You are in control.

Enjoy.
