The yogi's understood that to quiet the mind, you must connect the mind to the breath. Ajapa japa meditation allows us to connect to a cycle of breathing and to connect to our consciousness through the breath. Bring your consciousness to a state of gratitude with this practice. Headphones are recommended.

A Japa Japa meditation with gratitude.

Come into a nice comfortable seated posture.

Bring the spine tall.

Palms on to the knees.

Touch the tip of the thumbs to the tip of the index fingers.

Close the eyes softly.

Bring the whole body into stillness.

Now bring the focus of your mind to the breath at the entrance of the nostrils.

Try not to control the breath,

Just witness it moving in and out.

The practice of a japa japa.

As you inhale I want you to mentally,

Mentally repeat I am grateful for mine.

As you exhale I want you to choose one of the many gifts you have been given.

The eyes,

The ears,

The toes,

The brain,

The family,

The friend,

The pets.

Every exhalation is a different gift.

As you inhale mentally repeat I am grateful for mine.

As you exhale your object of gratitude.

Continue in this way for the next few minutes.

Now bring the body into a nice comfortable seated posture.

Come into a nice comfortable seated posture.

As you inhale your object of gratitude.

The last couple of minutes.

Now bring the body into a nice comfortable seated posture.

You you complete your last exhalation recognizing how gratitude allows the mind to become content peaceful recognizing all the gifts you've been given in this life becoming grateful means we acknowledge all these amazing gifts we've been given the mind the heart becomes calm and peaceful adiyam that's it
