Come and relax with me, honour love in your heart and surround yourself by your own light. Acknowledge the power of rest and how your breathing can support this. time to rest and relax and allow ourselves to feel whatever we need to feel at this exact moment of practice.

Transcript

Invite you to rest,

Lying in a comfortable position maybe with a blanket on,

A pillow underneath your head,

And as you're getting into that comfortable position,

Just gently closing the eyes when you're ready.

And as we close the eyes,

We start to draw the attention inward.

Maybe we start to listen to a few gentle breaths here,

But mostly in these first few moments,

Allowing all expectation and pressure fade.

And as we let go of expectation and pressure,

We are free to feel whatever we need to.

Gently coming to a normal and natural breath,

Taking the time to relax your face muscles,

Relax the shoulders,

Relax across the chest,

Into the hips,

Down the legs,

And relax into the feet and toes.

And as you take the time to relax your physical body,

You're able to settle and melt into this safe and comfortable relaxation.

A safe space for you to completely let go of those stresses that you're carrying around day to day.

Don't worry if you have to pick them up again after,

Just be here now letting go of those stresses,

Finding comfort,

Finding release.

And as we gently relax in this space more and more,

We start to feel really light through the body.

Maybe each time we let go of a stress,

Of an area of tension,

We feel lighter.

Maybe we allow another thought or stress to dissolve,

And that also helps us feel lighter.

And as we allow this light feeling to really reach every corner of the body,

Every area of the body,

We can start to translate this lightness into warmth and into comfort.

Let's allow the muscles to soften here.

Let's allow the joints to rest.

And as we soften in this space,

We feel even more light,

Even more free.

We commit to letting go of the things holding us back at the moment.

We commit to letting go of those stresses,

Those annoying thoughts.

We commit to relaxing here,

Continuing to soften the muscles,

Relax the joints.

And as you soften more and more,

Starting to feel a real gentle warmth through the body.

This warmth starts from the feet,

Slowly filters up through the legs,

Swirls around the hips.

This warmth can be felt in the lower back,

And reaches the back of the shoulders,

And trickles down the arms into the fingertips.

This warmth can be felt in the face and the head,

And this warmth can mostly be felt in your heart space,

In your chest.

And with this warmth,

This comforting warmth,

And this feeling of lightness in the body,

You can start to imagine that warm light that surrounds the body.

Maybe this light is a bubble that surrounds you,

Maybe this light comes from the crown of your head and shines up,

Maybe you're imagining this glow of light beaming from your heart space.

And translating this light as love around you,

Love that can be shared,

Love and light that can be passed on,

Love and light that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed.

Keep yourself here in these moments of rest,

Honouring and soaking up all that love and light around you,

Enjoying where that natural normal breath is taking you.

Every now and then there'll be that distraction,

That thought that pops in,

Do your best to just let go of it gently.

You may wish to pick it up at the end,

But for now keep letting go of those thoughts.

Keep yourself right here.

And as you bathe in your glorious light for a couple more breaths,

Maybe you're feeling really soft and relaxed through muscles,

Through joints,

Maybe you're feeling a little bit of space in your head between your thoughts.

Whatever is surfacing here,

Just soak it all up,

Know that it's all coming from you with a gentle guide.

You can take yourself to this space of release.

You can enjoy that feeling of lightness and that warm glow around you.

You can experience and feel love in your heart,

Love that surrounds the body,

Feels the body,

That may be passed on,

That may be shared.

Soft,

Slow,

Gentle breaths,

Relaxing from your toes to your forehead,

Relaxing in your shoulders down to the fingertips,

Relaxing in the belly,

Into your chest and your heart space,

And soaking up these moments as if they're endless.

And as you're relaxing here,

Gently starting to observe the breath once again.

As you observe that soft,

Slow inhale through the nose,

And that gentle,

Soft,

Sweet exhale through the mouth.

And on these breaths,

I invite you to gently and softly let go of anything that's holding you back at the moment,

Anything that is becoming a barrier,

Anything that is making it hard to feel that love in your heart,

Any stresses,

Any tensions,

Use your exhale to let go,

Keep them soft,

Keep yourself relaxed.

Maybe there's just a few more breaths here,

But whilst you continue to take those breaths,

I invite you to scan through the body and tap into what feels good in these moments.

Maybe you have located an area of power,

Of strength.

Maybe earlier when we started to visualise that light and that warmth in the body,

Maybe there was a certain area that stood out.

Scan through here,

Start to bring your awareness back,

And as you do so,

Your breath can bring some energy back into the body.

Maybe you start to take a wiggle through your fingertips and through your toes,

Maybe you start to take a big stretch,

But with no rush at all,

You can gently start to bring yourself back from this release,

From this acknowledgement of love.

Enjoy your breaths getting deeper,

Your stretch getting longer,

That movement starting to happen now in the body,

And make sure with one of your final breaths here,

You wrap your arms around yourself and you give yourself a big hug.

You take one more full breath in through the nose,

And out through the mouth,

And you commit to honouring this love,

Warmth and light in the body again very soon.

wow. that was really grounding and calming for me. i like something that you said about “adding space between [our] thoughts” that’s exactly what i felt i got was a little more space to see more sides of my thoughts and also to be able to step back and let some go. thank you so much.
