When I first began practicing meditation, the prospect of sitting for 5+ minutes felt overwhelming, prompting me to choose simplicity. Starting with just one minute at a time allowed me to weave multiple short sessions into my day, eliminating the need to complete it all in one go, especially during the morning rush. If this resonates with you, I encourage you to embrace this straightforward practice and observe the transformative effects unfold.

Transcript

Bring yourself into a comfortable position and take a deep breath in.

Feel your lungs fill with air and as you exhale slowly,

Let your eyes gently close.

Bring your attention to this moment.

Feel the sensation of your breath as it flows in and out.

Notice the rise and fall of your chest or the gentle expansion and contraction of your abdomen.

As you continue to breathe,

Thoughts may rise and I want you to know that that is totally okay.

When your mind starts to wander,

Gently guide it back to the sensation of your breath.

Anchor yourself here in the present.

Now broaden your awareness to the sounds around you.

Observe the various sounds,

Whether they are distant or nearby.

Let them come and go like waves in the ocean.

Now take a final deep breath in,

Inhaling positivity and exhaling any remaining tension.

When you're ready,

Gently open your eyes and do your best to bring the mindfulness you cultivated in this brief meditation into the rest of your day.
