Welcome to the practice of Nanyar from the Vedic tradition with the principle being Self-realisation.
As I ask you a series of questions,
I'd like you to feel into the answer being I am not that,
Or Neti Neti.
You'll repeat this answer constantly and silently.
As we realise that the physical and material aspects of our lives are merely layers,
Covering and,
We think,
Comforting our souls.
But as we remove those layers,
We reveal our truth,
Our true soul.
Finding a comfortable seat,
Either sitting on the floor,
A chair or the end of the bed,
Relaxing your shoulders,
And taking a few breaths in just for you.
Am I the objects I possess?
I am not this.
Am I my relationship?
I am not this.
Am I my career?
I am not this.
Am I my education?
I am not this.
Am I my triumphs?
I am not this.
Am I my failures?
I am not this.
Am I the car that I drive?
I am not this.
Am I the house that I live in?
I am not this.
Am I the balance of my bank account?
I am not this.
Am I the company that I keep?
I am not this.
Am I my physical body?
I am not this.
Am I my heart beating?
I am not this.
Am I my lungs breathing?
I am not this.
Am I my liver detoxifying?
I am not this.
Am I my body systems?
I am not this.
Am I my ears hearing?
I am not this.
Am I my eyes seeing?
I am not this.
Am I my nose smelling?
I am not this.
Am I my skin feeling?
I am not this.
Am I my mouth speaking?
I am not this.
Am I my hands holding?
I am not this.
Am I my arms and legs moving?
I am not this.
Am I the emotions that arrive and recede?
I am not this.
Am I the thoughts arising and leaving?
I am not this.
Am I the mind thinking?
I am not this.
Releasing the practice,
Taking a few rounds of breath,
Allowing the practice to land.
You may continue inviting the questions of what you are not.
Pause this recording now and continue.
We'll begin natural normal breath.
Invite some gentle movement to your body.
Take a stretch,
Roll your shoulders open.
And then gently blink open your eyes.
Feel free to welcome any thoughts or feelings that arise.
And please enjoy the rest of your day or evening.
Namaste.
